Got this for my rat so that he has his own room and it holds up great. He is unable to escape, multiple levels for his use, and it is very sturdy. I bought the larger one because I intend to adopt a few more rats soon, but it is actually quite larger than I expected. It's great to have the extra room, however I live in a 160sf studio so it was pretty challenging to find room for it. My only suggestion for improvement would be to add a smaller door on the side. Seeing as I had to find a creative spot for the thing the front door is very large and obstructed my bed and the top is obstructed by some shelves. I was able to take some wire cutters and remove a small section on the side so my boy can get in and out comfortably, but it requires leveraging a board in front of the opening so he can't escape when necessary. I was also able to flip the front door over so that it opens from the left side instead of the right. Rather simple yet pain in the butt.It would also have been nice if it was offered in a natural finish as I'm sure the paint is not safe for rodents to chew. I will be testing for lead soon just so I can be aware. Luckily he doesn't chew the wood.Also pay close attention to the assembly directions. At first it may seem the pieces are mismatched but really it's just odd design.Overall excellent product, great if you need something for rats. Just make sure to check the dimensions and measure out the space where it will go. Bottom line would recommend for rats.

The media could not be loaded. Bought for my iggy set up. Perfect size for juvi. Sealed it with 1.5 mm clear pvc also from Amazon! I was able to put it together with some help. Took about an hour. I will say the wheels are not at sturdy as I would like and one has already come off so I would but wheels separately. Overall great buy.

Had a baby squirrel fall out of our tree during hurricane Ian and ended up keeping him. He was living in our bathroom for a few days before I ordered this enclosure. It arrived an entire week early and was extremely easy to assemble! I only had to ask my boyfriend to help for the latches. All together it is sturdy and perfect size for a baby squirrel. The drawer at the bottom makes it easy to clean. Very happy with this purchase as things similar to this at the pet store are over $300.

Where do I begin… when I first opened the box and began taking the pieces out, the third one I grabbed ended up with one of their staples going straight into my hand… and as it turns out SO MANY STAPLES ARE NOT SECURELY IN and need replaced before any animal goes in it. Further more several Pieces of the wood were splintered so badly they too will need replaced prior to or shortly after my squirrel moves in as they will not withstand the jumping from the ledges I plan to install before they break completely, and one corner was completely broken and you can see where someone decided to try to glue the piece back on and conceal the mishap with paint instead of just replacing that piece of wood altogether, which would’ve been the smarter move. There’s a lot of cosmetic damage, but that is peanuts compared to everything else that is wrong with this cage and how it was manufactured by the “profits before quality” motto that is very apparent by everything wrong with this enclosure. It says you can use a hand screwdriver to put it together, but you will need a drill as some of these parts there is no pre-drilled holes so you will need to do that.. you will also need to have every single tool that was needed to put this enclosure together prior to shipping to fix everything wrong with it when it arrives or your animal is most certainly going to get harmed or worse. With the wire outside how it is put together so neglectfully if you are unable to fix it with your own tools, your animal will end up with puncture wounds or your hands at the very least. The metal edging on some of the parts is not secure and is very sharp. You’ll need to fix that as well because it was not done properly before it was sent out. But I think what is worst of all is knowing that there are two enclosures that are listed for two separate prices which is admitted to in the photos I have attached. From what I can tell this is definitely a PROFIT OVER QUALITY ENCLOSURE..goto ther FB and it is even admitted. SHOULD’VE WENT WITH A CRITTER NATION and perhaps you should too instead of going with this one if it was easy for me to return things from my small town, I would definitely return it.

My complaint is that it is not chew proof even though it has a couple chew guards. And that parts don’t match up perfectly even if you assemble it properly. My latches and locks on the very top and very bottom just don’t line up making them difficult to latch/lock. It’s a very nice cage, just worried about the durability over time. I assembled the cage my myself and it was not very difficult even though it recommends two people.

The media could not be loaded. I love this cage! We were able to do a ton with it as far as hanging toys because it was easier to attach things to the wooden shelving. The company also obviously read customer reviews and made upgrades. It has large and small alternating shelves now instead of all small shelves, so more room to play. And the shelves are now all lined with the same waterproof plastic lining as the tray for easy wipe-down and cleaning. There's also a small door for access to the bottom of the cage now which isn't featured in the original images. I absolutely recommend this cage.

Its fun to build with your friends but if you’re doing it on your own good luck. Smells a little weird but overall sturdy and absolutely worth it.
