I make these bread slicing guides in Lincolnton, Georgia from solid 3/4" oak lumber for the side rails and 1/2" oak veneer for the bread table. This guide is not adjustable but designed to cut three different thickness of bread. This one guide will cut bread at approximately 3/8", 1/2" and 3/4" thicknesses. Video available on how it works at: https://youtu.be/M9NMKPjOOeU My goals were to make it easy to use, affordable, durable, easily stored and most of all slice straight slices of bread every time. It also needed to be compatible using either an electric or bread knife. Plus be usable by right or left handed people. There are anti slip pads on top and bottom of the guide so that it will not move around as you slice your bread. Clean with a damp cloth. Do not soak with water. Finished used is Howard Cutting Board Oil. The mineral oil used in "Howard Cutting Board Oil" is from virgin mineral oils and has no contact with nuts, gluten or other potentially allergenic materials. The penetrating quality of food-grade mineral oil brings out the depth of grain in wood and helps prevent drying and cracking. A few words of advice: The guide is over 7" wide and will not work with a short 8" bread knife. I use one that is 12" long. They are available on line or most home good stores. Our electric knife has a blade length of 7 1/2" and works fine since it does the sawing, not you as in a bread knife that needs to saw back and forth. The bread needs to rest on your counter and cool down to room temperature. We find that the longer it rest the better it will slice. We let ours rest for at least 4 hours before slicing. Use caution while slicing with a knife to avoid injury. Knife not included with guide. Finished used: Howard Cutting Board Oil Overall width: 7" (Accepts bread loaf widths up 5 1/2" wide) Length: 12" Height: 3 1/2" Weight: 1 lbs. 14 oz
