Nice and convenient
I wasn't expecting much for the price after reading some reviews. But I wanted something to try drying out my boots. I only had one pair, wearing them 5 days a week from around 5am-6pm, so they get a lot of wear. They were smelling horrible, and my feet would not stop itching. Did some research and came to the conclusion of athlete's foot. I now have a second pair of boots and alternate days. I put this dryer in when I get home and let it run for a few hours before bed. I also started athlete's foot treatment. My boots no longer stink, and my feet don't itch. I was concerned about the heat drying out the leather, but the air doesn't actually get very hot. More so provides constant airflow to dry out the moisture. No noise at all. I would say they are very durable with decent build quality. I have accidentally left it plugged in overnight, and once an entire weekend. Boots were not damaged, nor did a fire start. Dryers still work perfectly fine. The device does get warm to the touch, but not so much so it burns, then again it is a dryer meant to produce heat. Your fault if you get burnt.

Lifesaver for winter soccer season!
These have been a lifesaver for my son’s high school soccer season so far. We had a week of rain and after every practice and game- and after using these- my sons cleats were dry the next day. They work fast and are easy to use. Just plug in and stick them in your shoes. Set a timer though cause it’s easy to forget and they do get hot. Not sure if they’d cause a fire but I don’t want to find out. Usually takes about 3-4 hours for them to get the shoes dry

When it's time to dry, give it a try
I was going on a trip that was suppose to have rainy days. So I got this to make sure I was not sloshing around anymore than I needed to. Well this does work and it works well, however, it takes a long time to do it. I got some test shoes wet and headed off to see what this thing was made of. Well after 4 hours I checked and it did make it dryer, but still not close to dry. 8 hours later they were wearable if it was truly needed, but still moist inside. 24 hours later they were bone dry and ready to go. So, the moral of the story is, don't expect your shoes to dry the same day you get them wet (also depending on how wet they are). I advice to maker, is to add a small 5v fan to each one to blow air around the shoe to speed up the time it takes to get it done.

Minimal smell noticed
I bought these because my work boots were smelling horrendous. I work 13.5 hour days with 1 hr worth of driving total to and from work. So if I’m not sleeping then I’m more than likely in these boots. Also worth noting, my boots are gore-tex lined. After a while they really start to retain moisture after multiple work days in a row it smells pretty bad. It’s no fault of the manufacturer because they do keep my feet warm and dry. But this breeds bacteria build up. Now these dry out my boots by 60-80% with only 8 hrs. After a full day they’re pretty much bone dry. After letting them sit for multiple days. They almost don’t stink at all and just smell like a “leather work boot.” My only gripe (or 2) is they extend but easily retract so you need to extend it yourself inside the boot. It just needs a better extension and that part is fixed. The other is the only heat the inside and inner sole of the boot. For shoes this is great because it’s just a shoe. But these don’t heat the uppers almost at all so you need to reposition them. I forget every time because no one goes “Oh I need to reposition my shoe warmers so my upper is dry.” Overall great value for the money and would buy again TLDR: cheap and gets the job done, but needs to sit longer than 8 hrs to totally dry.

Does what it says, but maybe not what you want
If you read the product description, it's clear that this works better the less soaked your shoes are. But honestly, if you're buying a dedicated shoe dryer, you want something that works well for heavier-soaked shoes. Will this dry your shoes? Yes. It produces a steady amount of heat that will eventually dry your shoes. Will it do it in any reasonable amount of time, or before your shoes start smelling? Not as guaranteed. I went back and forth between 2- and 3-stars for this. I've settled on 3 because, if you have the time and some baking soda, it is convenient to use this even for pretty wet shoes versus trying to dry them any other way. But you'll also constantly feel like this product could be a lot better than it is.

Product worthy of review
Great product! I don’t usually stop to do a review because I buy too much stuff but…We get stuck in the rain on our motorcycle and this is a boot saver!!! I also washed my sneakers and they dried them in about 5 hours!

Doesn’t Really Dry Shoes, Just Warms Them
I was disappointed with this product. I bought it hoping it would actually dry my shoes after a wash or after getting wet in the rain, but it doesn’t really do the job. Instead of drying them, it only makes the inside of the shoes a little warm. I gave it a couple of tries to see if maybe I wasn’t using it correctly, but the results were always the same—warm shoes that were still damp. Eventually, I had to buy another dryer that could actually get the job done. If you’re looking for a way to fully dry your shoes, especially after heavy use or washing, this isn’t the right product. It might help slightly with odor by warming, but as a true shoe dryer, it falls short.

6 years later, still working
6 years later and its still working. Highly recommend. I use it daily for sweaty work boots and especially in the winter. I've traveled with it in suit cases and duffel bags and its never broken. To clarify its a gradual heat to dry the sweat inside your boots/shoes, taking multiple hours. It might work to dry shoes after a wash but will probably take a couple days. There's no moving parts (fan) just a heating element.
