FEL-PRO 35630 Engine Coolant Thermostat Housing Gasket for Jeep Grand Cherokee

I had to do a coolant system refurb on my Jeep WJ 4.0. The main problem was a worn out fan clutch but it was leaking around the water pump too. I did the "while you're in there's" too so water pump, fan clutch, thermostat, thermostat housing, heater hose pipe and Fel-Pro upgraded gaskets with Honda-Bond RTV Silicone sealant and a new serpentine belt too. Everything worked great but to get the old fan clutch off I had to cut the nut part that screws on to the water pump shaft. I used a new Milwaukee M18 Orbital Super Sawzall, my reward for doing this DIY job. I didn't want to buy the Sawzall but after trying two parts store rental fan clutch removal tools with absolutely zero success, I got medieval on it. 15 minutes and two saw blades later the repair could proceed. The lower fan shroud fasteners are another pain in the ass for that job but after that, no big deal. After carefully cleaning all of the gasket surfaces and applying a reasonable amount of Hondabond, everything reassembled easily, I put the old hoses back in place refilled the system and burped it. Now my engine temperature stays right at 195 I think and beside warming up, the needle never budges. Before it would overheat if I wasn't traveling at 45mph+ and I had to add coolant almost every time I drove. That was mostly the fan clutch causing that but everything I used to fix it is working perfectly so far.

Works on my 2001 Jeep GC Laredo WJ inline 6 thermostat. Easy to install and it needs no gasket maker. It does not leak coolant. Makes next replacement 100 times easier.

I purchased this gasket while reading someone purchased a thermostat housing and the promised gasket was not included. Fortunately, the thermostat housing I purchased to upgrade and replace with the thermostat had a new gasket with it so I used the pro gasket instead because it was higher quality and no need for our TV silicone, if you’re changing your thermostat housing gasket I suggest you spend the extra six dollars for a new thermostat inspect your hoses, serpentine belt, water pump and if that happens, I also strongly advised to flush your radiator system heater, core and purchase the proper funnel to put in the radiator at the filler nozzle so the air can properly be bled so the radiator is not air bound stall on a 1998 Jeep Cherokee classic 4.0
