Looking to match a color from another paint manufacturer? Look no further!
First off, Thank you to Knot Models for shipping this so fast. I have some older Games Workshop paints that have been discontinued. Over time, they have gone bad. In this particular case, I have been searching for an exact match for GW's old Vermin Brown. After making a few incorrect match attempts, I found Parasite brown, which is a 90% match to the paint I was looking to replace. It's a little lighter than the original, but the same color.

I didnโt like the consistency of the paint. Goopy.

Feels more copper gold/ but nice color
It is a nice bright tone that I used to pop details on items painted with more subdued copper or bronze paints. It covers pretty well compared to other metallics.

Really nice paints for wargaming
I recently made the transition to Vallejo paints and they're absolutely wonderful. Super high pigment, they thin well, flow great. Couldn't be happier.

Good color, just needs a longer lasting finish.

Thick paint
Iโm used to the Vallejo paints which are designed to be airbrush ready so I was surprised at how thick this Game Color product was. Once thinned and thoroughly mixed with distilled water however, the paint sprayed perfectly and once dry, did not lift when masking tape was applied then removed. Overall, a very nice paint.Every product I review is one I have purchased myself.I rely on unbiased reviews when making shopping choices so thatโs exactly what youโll get from me. Oh come on Vallejo ?!
Right, let me first state that as a model paint the paint itself is fine. Same consistency, flow and coverage as you would expect. My issue is the colour.THIS IS NOT ULTRAMARINE BLUE ! Hahh, now that's out of my system let me explain.Ultramarine is a specific pigment, which gave rise to the colour it is named after. Ultramarine is a bright, red shade blue which is relatively weak in most paint systems - meaning you need a lot of layers to build up otherwise you'll see the primer/undercoat through the paint. This stuff is likely an indanthrone blue - a dull, almost greyish blue with much higher covering power. Sorry if that sounded like a lecture but too many years in the pigments industry makes me critical of this sort of shennanigans.Vallejo have obviously taken the cheap option of using something other than ultramarine in their ultramarine paint - which to me is a rip-off as I ordered the bottle as I wanted an actual ultramarine colour.

A Hobby Staple
I use this paint as a base for almost everything I paint read. This is a pretty solid alternative to Khorne Red. I find the Game Color range to be thick enough for base coating, but can easily be thinned for glazes. It also mixes like a dream.

Great effect ink
Dark and heavy compared to other inks, this stuff really does a good job of creating that smokey look on objects like exhausts or for creating that 'fire damaged' look on dioramas. Thinning, where required can be a bit tricky, it is much thicker than an average black ink so you may need to experiment first before slapping it on your prized figure. As with Vallejo in general the contents are of good quality and should last long enough.

Converted to Vallejo
I bought a number of these paints having only used Citadel paints before. The colours i bought were to try out Gold nmm painting technique. I haven't done this yet but have used them for other projects.I really like the bottles which allow easy application onto a paint palette. The colours themselves are well described and a good consistency before watering down.I think i'll buy the majority of my paints from this range going forward.
