Q: Is this soft or firm? Will it compress to very thin?

It is a closed cell type foam. It will compress but not to a really thin state.

Q: I want to use this ro cushion a brace on a foot. Is this very dense or does it have some give?

No. And it’s hard to remove the adhesive cover without damaging the foam. I threw mine away.

Q: Will it adhere to circular small object

It should..it is pretty sticky. I used them on 18 inch dolls
