Q: Can this store easily after christmas?

Yes--in my experience. You pull out the dowels and the center pole breaks down in two pieces, the stand is also in two pieces so that it is all flat, rubber bandable together and about 30" long or so.

Q: Could you please tell me what is the diameter of the branches and central pole?

Hello. The central pole is 20 - 25 mm and the branches are 8 -10 mm... the central pole is slightly thinner than a broom handle.

Q: Also...can you guarantee the rods will fit the holes. I don’t have a drill and can’t use a drill. I need the dowels to fit exactly.

It worked for me. One rod was a bit stubborn, but with some wiggling it did go in in the end. Once put up it looks really nice.

Q: would want to add lights but worried all the wire would look weird. Has anyone added their own lights?

I have put wish jar lights on mine. The wires are clear and the lights aren't bulky. Was worried too when I first put them on but after adding all ornaments and baubles it looks great. Don't really pay attention to the wires.
