how many mg is in each pill?

800 mg per capsule. 2 capsules are recommended. I take mine in the mornings and occasionally I take one in the morning and one at night. Now you can double this if you find a heavier dose makes you feel better. This particular brand is the best I have used in several years of trying various brands. I was impressed with this product and have no reason to ever change. I had used at least 5 different brands over the years. This is bar none the best for me I hope you find it helpful to.

Some people say it helps with sleeping. Others say it gives them energy. Which is it?

It's an "adaptogen" so it balances your body. It can help calm and relax when taking it in the morning, or help with sleep by reducing cortisols when taken at night.

What is effectiveness of product and in what quantity daily? I don't see many reviews speaking of this most important aspect.

What seems to work for me is what they recommend on the bottle 2 pills=800 mg once a day. I take mine after dinner. Very good and effective product i will buy again in the future. Might be a little expensive but you get what you pay for.
