Solid and lightweight - Many useful features and worth every penny
It took me a long time to finally pluck up the courage and purchase this tripod but I can saw without a doubt now that I'm glad I did. This is my first carbon fibre tripod, with my previous tripods being aluminium and weighing an awful lot more. PROS - Light. if you're moving from a similar sized aluminium tripod then the difference on location and travelling is immediately noticeable - Sturdy. I use mine with a 5dmk2 and the kit 24-105mm L lens. It hardly notices the weight of my setup but I like this it's overly capable as it means I trust it to hold stable in awkward positions - Easy and quick to setup. In researching compact and lower weight tripods I tried many of the travel tripods with a twist lock system, for me that just doesn't work very well. The springy clips on this tripod are easily opened three at a time with one hand so setting up even at maximum heights is a doddle. - Adjustable leg movement and clip tension. It comes with a tool to adjust the tension of the clips, and if you can get hold of a torn screwdriver then you can also easily adjust the effort needed to open and close the legs themselves. I found the setup a bit stiff at first and would recommend ever so slightly loosening the leg movements if you agree after trying it out CONS - Price. Its a lot to pay for someone like myself who does not earn from my photography. That being said, it is a high quality product, it will be sturdy enough to grow with the needs of most, and I have no doubt it will last well if I take care of it - No carry case. Not a big deal, I would recommend the £16 Manfrotto strap. Whilst it's not perfect its simple and effective

Great quality product, great price and brilliant design.
Really liked the idea of this tripod as soon as I watched the official Manfrotto video on YouTube. It's such a dynamic good quality product that will really compliment your photography well. My favourite feature is the verticle changable 90 degree centre column that really shakes things up (although this will only be good for you if you have a ball head tripod, which I've also bought with it)... I'm yet to try this out properly on location with filming projects and photography sessions but will update this once that's done. But for now... On first impressions out the box its sturdy, has a premium feel, it's well built and the rubber grips on 2 of the 3 legs really compliment both the design and functionality... one thing I noticed from using tripods at University (despite them costing £300) is that they get extremely cold and is freezing on your hands whilst filming. With the rubber on the legs of these it'll be much nicer for winter photography or colder conditions. Aside from that little feature, the quick release clips make it easy to extend the legs and with the silver clips at the top to push up and release the legs out even further. The best bit about that function is you can push the legs out as far as they can go, lift out the centre column and get the tripod down to floor level which is amazing. I'm still to use the easy link feature to attach other accessories, but haven't yet got a friction arm anyway. Once I do though it'll be so easy to put a light or mic on it for video... If you're looking for a decent tripod to start off with and have the budget for something like this then I recommend you buy. If you need a slightly larger one then go for the 4 section, but when you look at the specs on Manfrotto website they're not that much different but just literally research before you buy and make a decision based on your need rather than just because it does everything. Just like everything you buy there may not be features you need or even use so you'll just be wasting money on something over complicated just because you want it...

Strong, versatile, but slightly overweight.
Good solid design as you would expect from a big name like Manfrotto. Sturdy and stands up to a fair bit of wind buffeting without the need for extra bags to be hung from underneath and the adjustable width on the legs can help if you sacrifice some height. The versatility is the selling point for me though, with low shots and close up macros being possible as well as your traditional full height landscapes. The only downside is weight. It is heavy, bulky which adds to to the Sherpa like look as you climb to the tops of any hills. That said quality construction and versatile design. There is a carbon version for those worried about the weight.

Brilliant tripod. Solid as a rock.
This is the first time I've bought a tripod at over the £100+ range. It is so much sturdier than anything I've used previously and has a "heft" that is reassuring. Used with my XPRO head, it's as solid as a rock. It's not the lightest for it's size, but I'm personally quite ok with it. The ability to twist the centre column horizontally is both ingenious and simple, although the weight of the XPRO and my camera (Canon 70D) when the column is fully extended allows for a little flex. Sliding the column horizontally inwards 100mm cures this (ymmv). All in all, a solid tripod and great value. Very pleased with this purchase. Highly recommended.

Best tripod
I love this tripod for many reasons. It is sturdy, adaptable for different shooting needs and very sturdy even when in tight spaces. I am shooting using a timer and there is no camera shake when bracketing for 3 frames. I purchase with an extra head so I could get the most out of this tripod and I went with Manfrotto for the quality. I did debate between the aluminium body or carbon fibre, price wise I chose the aluminium frame and it not as heavy as I was lead to believe. I use it almost every day and carry it on occasions. Only think that I would have liked would have been a carry bag included but that’s easily solved by an extra purchase. Great Item so thanks Manfrotto for making such a wonderful easy to use tripod for us female photogs

Great Tripod! although maybe a little expensive.
Im using this tripod mostly with my Nikon D750 and a selection of lenses. The largest so far has been the 70-200mm Nikkor, and ithis tripod is able to handle it very well. In windy conditions I often take the precaution of using the hook to hang my rucksack in the centre of the tripod for additional weight and stability. This is because of one occasion in very strong wind when the tripod was blown over with the camera attached. I like that it folds small and is pretty light. It is also very flexible thanks to the horizontal main tube option and the available arm attachments that can be used for many different purposes...reflectors/flash guns etc. All in all Im very happy and would recommend it over the 3 section version as it is able to become so small. Also the Quick Power Lock leg system makes for extremely quick and easy deployment. It is a little expensive although I got it as a warehouse deal for almost 50% of its current price!

Excellent buy.
Not yet taken it for its first outing but I know it's going to be a winner. I have had a Giottos for many years and it has served me well, but it was time for a new one (old one really as this model has been around for a while). I love the way I can quickly change from vertical to horizontal. Having the easy link feature will be great as I do macro a lot and having the ability to attach a light or flash to the actual tripod will be very useful for me. I have just ordered the flex cable. Another thing I like is the spirit level which can be moved to where you can see it, nice little touch. It is quite heavy which I don't mind, my Giottos was just as heavy, however it does have an attachment where you can attach a strap, the same attachment can be used to add some weight for stabilising the tripod in windy conditions. All in all I am looking forward to taking it on a trip around my local nature reserve. It's build quality is excellent.

Light as a feather, strong as a bull....
I ordered this tripod and opted for tgree to five days delivery. Two days later it appeared in a mega sized box with the pan head and bag. On opening the tripod box I was amazed at how light this feels. I took the tripod out and it just oozes quality. It feels solid yet light. The legs extend with positive clicks. This tripod also goes low and I mean low like a snakes belly for macro shots. I just love the positive clicks when changing position of the legs and column. Put a Canon 6d with a Canon 100-400mm mk1 lens on it and it felt solid. Very impressed with this tripod and you get what you pay for.
