Would this product be OK to nucleate (etch) the bottom of the inside of a beer glass?

Depending on the glass type I do t see why not

How much of this product would I need to etch one side of 4 glass panels with dimensions 340mm x 190mm. Windows within and existing door.

A little goes a very long way. If it is the whole surface and not a design consider large areas can be patchy so you would need a thick coat and to move it around on the surface regularly. Maybe consider frosted vinyl as a better alternative

Can this be used on items such as button snaps?

Etching cream can only be used on glass, not any other surface .
