Sturdy rice maker and warmer. Stylish, non stick with timer.
The media could not be loaded. We’ve purchased several rice makers over the years. This has to be the favourite make we’ve had this for ages and it is still producing wonderful fluffy rice. It comes with a plastic spoon too! Each type of rice so far has been cooked to perfection. Not overly big but one big mug feeds 4 of us. I actually leave it out on my counter as it isn’t too obtrusive.

Excellent little gadget
Why have I never bought rice cooker before. Great little gadget. Easy to use. Cooks rice in 20 mins and keeps it warm afterwards. My only criticism is that it doesn't actually turn itself off so you have to remember to do it or the rice dries out. Very good for the price though. Would buy again

Is what it is and does a great job at it
I've always heard that Asian households will have a rice cooker in their home and now I understand why. While this one may be a bit basic than others, it will cook rice perfectly. The cooking process is a simple one.- Clean your rice.- Fill to desired water level (has markings to help)- Flip switch to cook. That's it. It will then switch to warm and stays warm for hours. The only con I can think of isIf you keep it on warm it can dry the bottom layer of rice, it doesn't burn it just becomes a dry layer. That's only if it is left on warm for a while. Most cases you are going to serve the rice just as it's cooked. The remainder will be left to cool.Just plug it out once it's cooked and you will avoid that issue.Note that this is a small unit, so for an individual or a couple it's perfect size for the amount of rice it can cook.

Nice Rice
This is my best yet lol. Having tried two other makes, 1 broke the other never worked out of the box. This little cooker is simple to use one button. Plug, push the button and done. Small capacity compared to others but you would have enough rice for four maybe 6 if you use to full capacity. It's very fast about 15/20mins. Well worth it.

Good mini rice cooker let down by a few small quality issues.
This is a well designed rice cooker let down by a few small niggles...I should mention that I purchased my unit form eBay as I found it cheaper there (sorry Amazon). The reason I went for this unit is that I expected it to be of better quality than many of the cheaper units available and to be fair, it is. The unit is apparently designed in the UK, so I would trust it more than a cheap generic unit by an unknown brand. However, all is not perfect as the unit I received has a wobbly lid that doesn't sit properly in the bowl due it being slightly too large, or the bowl too small. My unit also had some wrinkles in the front label that makes it look cheap with lack of attention to detail, though this is cosmetic only, but kills the impression of quality the sleek stainless exterior presents. The materials are good, but its the small details that that let it down. The unit is very small and light, perfect for my needs (cooking rice for 1-2 people), and it doesn't spit rice water everywhere like some of the larger units do. The unit is fitted with hard plastic feet that skid around the worktop, so this may be a concern if you have children around. I was planning to buy a second unit, but I won't be bothering now as I am hoping the manufacturer will fix the minor issues mentioned and make this the brilliant little rice cooker it deserves to be.UPDATE (2017.01.26):I returned my rice cooker as I wasn't happy with the lid not fitting properly, but my replacement unit was exactly the same. After contacting SQ Professional it appears that all the current stock is the same. As most customers appear to be quite happy with this little rice cooker the lid issue should not be a concern unless you are as fussy about these things as I am.I think what has happened with the lid sizing is that the sizing has not accounted for the stainless steel rim and so the lid is about 2 mm larger than it should be. It does sit flush with the top of the bowl and looks fine, but it is supposed to sit below the bowl rim on the lip (see product image) where it would be supported and should not wobble.I am sending my second unit back as I have purchased a 1L George Home Rice Cooker from Asda for £10 in sale and it does the job just fine, in fact it works as well as this one, though isn't quite as well designed (thinner materials, fixed power cord, etc.), but it also doesn't come with a wobbly lid. I'm happy with it.UPDATE (2017.01.27):For your amusement, here is an explanation from SQ Professional regarding the wobbly lid (names have been removed to avoid embarrassment)..."...Thank you for your responsePlease be advised that the pictures I have supplied and the rest of the rice cookers we have in stock are all fine and have no problem. I understand you may have questions as to how can I suggest all rice cookers are okay? In support, please read below:The logical flow of the working is as below:During the process of rice being boiled, a lot of starch foam is produced. This foam gets mixed with the steam created by boiling water. If lid sits exactly on the lip of bowl, the steam and starch produced will start creating a lot of pressure within the rice cooker just like a pressure cooker. Say if consumer tries to take off the lid once the rice boiling process is complete, an immense amount of hot steam will release from the cooker which poses serious risks to consumers. It is similar to the situation of opening pressure cooker lid right after food is cooked. Similar logic applies to rice cooker only if the lid was exactly sitting on the lip of rice cooker pot.In order to avoid situations where consumers can potentially harm themselves, lid is designed and engineered in a specific way for pressure to not build up in rice cooker but at the same time trapping adequate amount of steam for rice to cook properly. Hence excess steam passes through the sides of the lid as well as the ring within the lid. Using a lid of this design allows a very safe operation of rice cooker and poses no risk to consumers at all. Furthermore, a lid of this design in no way affects the way rice are cook and boiled. Achieving this harmony is what makes our product successful and of Superior Quality. We are proud that this rice cooker has attracted a lot of 5 star positive feedback and it will continue to be manufactured in the same way as it is unless we find an area to improve...."And here is my response..."...Thank you for getting back to me :=).You just made my day ... I almost fell of my seat after reading the supplied explanation for the oversized lid ... LOL ... credit where its due. I think someone is spinning you a line, but not to worry.I have purchased another rice cooker which suffers no such venting problems and doesn't need an oversize lid to achieve this. My SQ Professional rice cooker is due to be picked up today as I decided to return it. I should say that it is otherwise a nice little unit, well made with some nice design touches (good materials, perfect size, looks good, removable cord, etc), but alas I prefer to forego the extra steam venting safety feature, unique to this model rice cooker, for a more traditional design.I'd like to thank you one again for taking the time to reply to my email. All the best...."I hope this little review has helped to bring a little joy to your day and made your buying decision easier.
