WD 3TB Elements Portable External Hard Drive - USB 3.0

Arrived bang on time. My Xbox One X recognised it right away. Straightforward process to use as the main storage for games installations. All the games I installed all work perfectly from this drive with no issues. And one more thing to mention it is small - small enough to fit into your pocket and take to a friends house to use.Highly recommend this device.

My old 2 TB backup device is 6 times larger than this device. Fits in your pocket. What a revelation and no additional power lead required. Just plug and play. Used this to back up three PCs and it was so fast (USB3) I didn't belive it had backed up the whole device library. Impressive.

Fantastic drive. You can just plug it straight into a usb port and it works. Speed isn’t the best I used it for games and it’s passable but you probably want an ssd for larger modern games. But I use it for lots of plugins for music production and mod backups which is great although sample based plugins need to also be on a ssd.

I’ve been using this hard drive for over a year now.. it’s been amazing.. works super fast supports usb 3.0.. I’ve had no issues whatsoever with it. For the price point I bought it, it was much worth it. Obviously the next step up from this external hdd would be to get an SSD. So if you’re looking for super blazing fast speeds maybe get an SSD or semiSSD hdd.. nevertheless if it’s to keep a backup of all your photos vids documents etc.. or just to use day to day. This is great.I also bought alongside it a nice zip bag which perfectly fits the hdd and cable. Useful for travel.

Very nice portable hard drive, one downside about it, is that it don't work on my XP, which was the reason for getting this hard drive.This does operate well with Windows 10, so I given it the full stars, just a pitty it doesn't work with XP 😒Malcolm

I have been using the 14TB model as a backup drive with transfers in every 4 hours. The drive has been constantly on since 6 August, and it is half full by now. So far I have not experienced any problems, and I am very happy with my purchase. As a general piece of advice: either use this drive for backups or buy two. Losing 14TB of data is far from funny. (I am a computer expert.)

The Hard drive is plug and play so no problems. Came with a short USB 3 cable, about 30-40cm long, which is perfect for it's intended position, next to my NAS drive as a backup. The drive felt quite heavy and solidly built. At the moment everything is as it should be. Only time will tell.

The best feature for me is that this 3TB HDD can be USB powered rather than requiring an external power supply. Otherwise it meets all my expectations - works well and seems to have an acceptable transfer rate (subjective as opposed to measured!).
