BabyDan Furniture Straps, Pack of 4

Comes with four, sturdy looking white furniture tethers. The fixing instructions are minimal, so you'll need to know what you're doing with DIY to attach these.You'll need to screw one of the plastic buckles into the back of your piece of furniture, so note that you'll create at least two holes on each side of the piece of furniture.You'll then need to screw the other plastic buckle into the wall.The package comes without any kind of screw, rawlplug or wall fixing (as the fixing you need will depend on your wall).Once anchored the nylon strap can be adjusted for length, so that the furniture is allowed more or less tip before the tether takes the weight.These straps are long, well made and quite bulky, so they're hardly invisible, but they do seem able to take a good amount of weight.Just bear in mind that DIY novices or people without the right screws and wall hardware will struggle.

I was looking to secure some CD racks to stop them from falling over. These fitted the bill.The straps don't come with any screws or raw plugs, so you will need to purchase these. I would suggest getting them when you have the straps as the holes in the end pieces are narrower than the more common screws. I happened to have some of the right size to use though.In my case, I could only screw the straps to the wall as the CD racks don't have a place to screw the other end on. I was able to weave the strap between them and secure them that way.I am sure that these straps would be able to provide some protection for their intended purpose of stopping heavy furniture from falling onto someone. Many modern properties use plasterboard so you may need to consider where the furniture is placed.

Good solid tethers and a must to be safe in the knowledge that large drawers and wardrobes won't come down on little ones up to mischief. One of those things that may end up being an afterthought or something you should have bought in hindsight. Don't let that be you! We had a near miss with chest of drawers and promptly ordered these for all our drawers and wardrobes.A pack of 4 is enough for two pieces of furniture. Instructions could be better but a competent DIYer will be fine. A shame they don't provide screws for the bracket to be attached to the furniture though. You can understand not providing rawlplugs and screws but some woodscrews for furniture wouldn't go amiss.

Easy to fix on the wall and keeping the heavy chest of drawers up - definitely recommend

I must admit the tallboy and bookshelf in my sons room as had been giving me cause for concern after a news article involving some ikea furniture.So having had BabyDan products before I decided to go for these straps to secure the furniture, They come neatly packed and the build quality is solid and their design is quite good.They were straightforward to install but be warned there are no fittings included which caught me out as my stocks of screws etc were a bit low at the time.A pack of four I used two on each item of furniture but for full size wardrobes I think I'd be looking at using 3 per wardrobe.Fittings aside they have done the job well.

Very useful for keeping the kids from being crushed by big furniture, and very safe and secure. I did find that the screws supplied were not the best fit so used my own, plus it was quite difficult to fit to some furniture where the back is mostly a thin chipboard panel. Tightening the cord at the end is also very difficult as you try to put the furniture back against the wall. Does what you expect though.

We bought this to secure a set of drawers to the wall in our toddlers room following newspaper reports of tragic accidents with other toddlers. I chose baby dan as they have a good reputation for baby and child safety and these are as good as expected. They are fairly easy to install (we don't have many DIY skills but still managed it!) They seem to have securely anchored the drawers to the wall and hopefully our toddler will never climb up the drawers but I do feel confident that this product offers a good safety to prevent the drawers from tipping over. A small price for a good peace of mind.

These are a brilliant idea if you have inquisitive, lively, toddlers and you're childproofing your home. They're easy to fit (you'll need a drill), and once they're in place, you can have the peace of mind that your little one's won't end up pulling furniture over onto themselves as they explore, climb around, and pull open cupboards and drawers. I have twins and was forever concerned that they'd pull over my chest of drawers, bedside cabinets, etc and come to harm until I brought several of these straps. Nothing can be a substitute for adult supervision, but for those moments when you're back is turned, they are a God send. Their positioning at the back of the furniture also means that they are more or less hidden from view, too. Highly recommended.
