If you have a blackvue dashcam you need this!
So this little box is probably the most simple but best idea since dashcams were invented! It keeps your dashcam on for either 12,24, or 72 hours or the option to keep it on until the battery drops below a safe voltage (so don't worry about coming back to a flat battery!) There is also a physical switch to toggle parking mode on or off.Installation is simple however you do need a multimeter to determine the best fuses to piggy back off. In total there's 3 wires you need to terminate a ignition live (only on when the car is on i used the cigarette lighter), permanent live (on regards of whether the car is on or off, I used the stereo system) and a ground (I used the nearest bolt to the chassis of the car)Great addition to my blackvue dashcam and will certainly recommend!

Not cheap but does the trick
First impression was it seemed very flimsy and quite expensive. I bought it to replace a cheaper version that was absolute junk. Have had this fitted for about 6weeks now and itseems to work fine. At least my car still starts, not like when i fitted the cheap version. I guess you get what you pay for. Fitting is fairly straight forward as long as you know what the inside of a fusebox looks like and have a diagram telling you we hat each fuse is for. This is on the cover of the fuse box for some cars, but an easy Google search if not.

Good idea.
A good idea to have a device that will run camera in standby mode when vehicle is switched off, but will time out when either a predetermined time elapses, (if you set one), or if battery level drops below a value you can set, and a simple on/off switch if you don’t want it to operate in standby mode, (it will still automatically turn on with the ignition switch.Unit is small and light so can easily be mounted in a multitude of locations that you can select according to your needs and preference. What I don’t like is the very small gauge wire that is used, I appreciate it doesn’t need to be any heavier for the power requirements of the device, but from a mechanical strength point of view and to make terminating it easier and more secure a heavier gauge wire would be sensible.

Simple and does the job!
I bought this product and so far it has performed all the advertised functions without a hitch! You need to know your way around your vehicles electrical system to wire this up though. In my Mercedes there is a fuse box located in the truck and I wired it to two fuses, an "always on" fuse and an "on with the key" fuse. I could only find out that the Mercedes cuts power to the entire fuse box after about an hour plus of turning off my car, so I ended up wiring the "always on" directly to the car battery. I find it a little annoying but you may not find it which depend on your car. Anyway, I used the Power Magic Pro with a BlackVue DR650S - 2CH dash cam and it works exactly like a CHAMP! It intends to save car battery life and works extremely well so far. Overall, the car works perfectly great!

Useless, cheap quality and overpriced
Bought this to go with the BlackVue DR900S 2CH so I could hardwire it into my car and enjoy 24 hr recording without worrying about my car’s battery being drained. First of all I wasn’t impressed that a £420 dashcam didn’t come equipped with a basic hardwire kit. When paying an obscene amount like that, I’d expect to get the kit included as standard. Secondly I wasn’t impressed at the actual price of the Power Magic Pro itself. For a hardwire kit, it’s well overpriced. It should be listed at £20 max and even that is pushing it based on the quality I saw.I installed this along with my dashcam after a few days of receiving them both. Straight out of the box it felt light and flimsy and didn’t feel like a quality or sturdy product at all. It’s almost as though no effort was put into manufacturing this item and I got the impression that if it was dropped then there would be little or no protection to the components inside and likely cause it a fair bit of damage. There’s a distinct lack of accessories with this item. To connect your live (yellow) and accessory (red) wires to your fuse box, you also need an add-a-fuse. These can be bought cheap enough but it’s a basic necessity to utilise the product and something I’d expect to come included. It’s like buying a television but not getting a power lead with it. Anyway, the process of connecting the wires to the add-a fuse is simple enough but it’s an added inconvenience and additional cost that you shouldn’t have to cover. You also need additional fuses to go into said add-a-fuses. More expenditure. Finally, the earth (black) wire comes with a tiny earthing connection that will only fit onto the tiniest screw/bolt. I spent an additional half hour or so looking for an alternative earthing point just to accommodate this. Annoying. So after combatting all of the above, I got in the car and connected it to the fuse box and the dashcam. Nothing. Checked all the connections in case I’d knocked something but no joy. Checked the instructions and ‘how to’ tutorials to make sure I’d done it right but still it didn’t work. I re-installed my old dashcam and hardwire kit to make sure it wasn’t a problem with the car itself - it wasn’t. So after an hour or two and several choice words, I contacted Amazon and ordered a replacement as it seemed as though the item was faulty. The second unit arrived the following day so I was delighted at being able to get back to work on it so soon. On opening the box, however, the kit had clearly been used before - the wires were tangled, appearing to have been pulled out and stuffed back in and there was no metal earthing connection on the black wire, as though it had just been cut off. Felt a bit annoyed at this, however as I still had the wiring from the first kit, I thought I may as well use that and just replace the power magic pro itself. This should work right? Wrong. More choice words. Okay maybe it was a problem with the wiring. I reluctantly took the (clearly used) wires from the replacement set and proceeded to add my own earthing ring (yet another additional cost) and hooked it up to my car. Nothing. Nada. Jack.By this point I was seething and almost threw the stupid thing out of the car window (I didn’t). Could I really be bothered ordering a third kit just to go through all that again? The answer was no. I’d not been impressed with the kit as soon as I’d opened the box, so I certainly didn’t have any intentions of giving it a third chance. Returned for a full refund. This is a basic hardwire kit with the added bonus of a built in timer and voltage protector to ensure your car’s battery never goes flat. In essence it’s a brilliant idea, however it seems as though a distinct lack of quality has been put into it. Just a little more effort to make it sturdier and hard wearing and it would be a much better piece of kit.I had high hopes but in reality I was left disappointed and angry at the 3+ hrs I wasted trying to install this shoddy item. My advice would be not to bother.
