Perfect little black number
I bought this for my 12" iBook. I've used Targus cases in the past for work computers. It is ideal for the daily commute to work and holds everything I need with easy access. The D-rings are made of plastic (my only concern - I would have preferred metal) and these allow the included shoulder strap to be used. The handles are sturdy with a comfort grip and X-stitched onto the bag. There are just two zipped pockets. One for the laptop and one for 'everything else'. Something else I liked was the very subtle red trim on the case and the zip tags. Each pocket has two-way zip tags. The zips are medium to heavy duty with a solid, positive action. Loops are provided for a security padlock. The laptop pocket opens fully and the laptop is secured by a couple of Velcro straps. It's large enough to take A4 pages or books as well. The accessories pocket has two triangular limiters either side so it opens up partly - nothing spills out - and feature a larger pocket for notes or paper. Two pockets in front easily hold spare batteries, portable hard drives and a slightly narrower pocket with a flap can keep USB pen-drives, cables, memory cards, etc. secure. There is still room in front of these pockets for other itemsEven with the slightly bulky Apple power adaptor, when closed this case is still low profile.Overall, the case is compact and light compared to the bulkier cases I have owned. Most importantly, the case feels sturdy and I am confident that it will hold my equipment safely as I move between locations.

A good practical workhorse
I use this bag every working day to carry a lunchbox, and EEE PC 901, a Kindle, an apple (the kind you eat), sometimes a soft hat and gloves, and even some A4 print-outs. The bag I had before could not cope, and began to warp along the top edge where the handle attached. For only a couple of pounds more, this is much sturdier, looks and feels like quality, and copes fine with the load. The outside pocket will comfortably take a Kindle Keyboard with a book-style cover, and it has some pouches inside it for small items. These pouches are the only thing which seems cheap about this. There is only one strap in the main compartment, but that should be enough for a bag this size, even if you were using it for a 13" laptop. The way the handles attach at the top distributes the load well across the body of the bag. You can lay a short umbrella along the top of the bag, and pull the handles up on either side to keep it in place while carrying. Nice. The handles themselves are strongly attached, well enough padded, broad and comfortable - for me anyway, although I should say that I do have small hands. The zips seem to be a good quality and gauge. This only third laptop bag I've owned, so I'm no connoisseur, but this is the bag I've been most pleased with. Good value.

Nearly, but not quite, great. Nicely made, though
Neat, well made bag from a long-established manufacturer. Swallows my new 17" desktop replacement laptop with room to spare - it would accommodate an 18" machine easily. The second compartment is a bit of a let down - bigger pockets or even a sewn-in zip-up pocket or two for power supply and/or mouse (like my Tucano bag) would have been a nice touch, and wouldn't break the bank during manufacture - I always carry my mobile in a jacket or coat pocket for convenient access anyway, so, to me, provision of two (very) slim pockets for phones in the second compartment is space-wastingly pointless. It does more or less what it sets out to do, and is nicely made, but could be excellent rather than just good with a bit more thought ironing out storage niggles for accessories and essentials to the machine in the main compartment.

Great Case/Bag suitable for a small travel bag as well.
The bag CUCT02UA14EU-51 arrived in good time. I had already checked on the Targus web site for a full description of the bag and pictures of the item. Targus have never updated their own site to reflect the fact that the bag has changed quite a bit. The changes have in fact improved the bag a great deal. The first thing to note is the shoulder strap. It is not the old straight one but one that is contoured to fit on the shoulder and is very snug and comfortable and is a vast improvement. There is a small case which I assume is to put the shoulder strap in so as to tidy it away and not have it floating around in one of the pouches. The pocket showing a tablet in, Targus site, is not there anymore and that division is dedicated to the laptop with a reinforced base and sides to protect the unit and absorb any shocks. The compartment, just noted, is in fact adjustable so if your computer is shorter you can remove the Velcro tabs and move to fit to your computer to stop it sliding around! A superb additional item a lot of thought has gone into the manufacture of this bag. The zip on this compartment also has the facility to put a small padlock on it for added security.A really superb bag and the write ups noted do not mention half of the detail mentioned here, great value pricewise as well.
