Functional budget lamp
Previously I had a led spotlight installed lower down as I didn't want to annoyingly illuminate the whole avenue but it just didn`t work that well, spotted this and thought I would give it a go for £15. It stands quite tall so no need to wall mount to get a good light spread. The "roof" does stop most vertical light escaping but it does illuminate higher than you would expect. Inside is a "choc block" connector already atteched but I don`t like the idea of those outdoors so I used a waterproof cable connector I had already from the last outdoor lamp and shoved it back up inside the hollow pipe once attached. Needed to cut out a little recess into the very bottom of the base as the cable made it wobble when fixed onto a flat surface - it`s plastic so a little pair of snips did this easily. You could chase the cable away underneath if mounted on top of something else like decking etc, so not a requirement. Screwed to the floor to make it stable - into the gap between two slabs, so even easier. You WILL definitely need to secure it somehow ! I did also use some clear waterproof silicone sealant I already had to seal the (real) glass panels all around the lamphead - as they simply slot in from inside I don`t think they would have been completely watertight over time otherwise; my previous outdoor light got water inside so did this extra step to try and prevent water ingress in future - I also used the excess sealant to do the joints of the lamp's post sections before fully tightening. Paired up with a large LED cob light I used to have in the loft - it`s really quite bright with a good 360 degree throw, I use it manually switched indoors so I can go out to the bins and check the cat house and all the other stuff you need to do in the dark. It`s maybe not the most atrractive item I`ve ever seen but is a functional lamp for the low price. NOTE: You will need to organise your own waterproof supply of power and wire it up manually, this is not unusual for outdoor lighting. It`s an E27 bulb fitting and will easily accept physically larger sized bulbs to be installed if needed.

Great for the money
These are great lamps you can have them 3ft or 4ft, a lot of people moan wire not long enough but there is plenty of wire inside you just have to supply your own wire and plug to connect them to mains just like most other garden lights, very easy to do. Screws and plugs supplied so you can secure to the floor which is a must as they are very light and will fall over. Look great with 6 watt led bulb fitted.

Quite a flimsy product. Needs to be wired to mains. Is not solar
This product is very flimsy, and would worry about it been outdoors. Ive used mine in the conservatory. It has to be wired to mains, but there is no channel from the base for the lead so you havevto cut the base yourself to get it to stand straight when wired up to a plug. not worth the money in my opinion. The light is very bright.

EXTRA ELECTRICAL CABLE IS NEEDED AND NOT SUPPLIED
very disapointed with this, as you need extra electric cable, ( NOT SUPPLIED), if your an elderly person, how are you going to fit this,
