Xim 4

While this is one of the best devices on the market for controlling your next generation console with a PC mouse and keyboard, it still isn't perfect.The device is relatively easy to use, it has a good instruction leaflet to help you get started, different coloured lights to let you know the status and an android app to let you control it easily.The app however is not the best, it doesn't always connect and you may need to play around with bluetooth (turning off and on) to get it to connect but it will pair eventually. The fact that the app is only available on Android is a huge problem, a product like this shouldn't advertise it as having a 'mobile app' if it is only available on Android and not iOS or Windows Phone.The feel of using the mouse and keyboard is very close to gaming on a pc but not completely there. It does give you a big advantage over gamepad players but it does not feel completely 1 to 1 from mouse to screen. The movement with the mouse is limited to the speed of your controller's analogue stick and you will need to play around with the sensitivity and keyboard key mappings to get it exactly how you like.One of the largest issues I have with this product is that you cannot use the controllers for audio and chat when using the xim on the PS4. The xim takes over control of the controller and because it is using USB you cannot use it in game to hear the game audio and chat with your friends. I tried getting the PS4 to recognise the xim as a controller and then unplugging and connecting the controller again to the ps4. This allowed me to use the controllers audio port but after about 2 minutes the xim stopped working and I had to plug the controller back into the xim to take control of the game again. If you have a second controller you can connect that and use that for your game audio and chat, however you cannot be logged into the same user account, so will have to game on one account and chat on the other, not ideal.Now for the price, you can get hold of one of these for just over £100. This could be justified given that it is one of the best devices on the market for using a PC keyboard and mouse on a games console, but when you receive it, it does seem overpriced. The device is very light and there doesn't seem to be much inside. Also, when set up it does not look like a very elegant solution, there are wires sticking out of the device in all directions and no matter how you set it up, it will still look like a mess.If you are looking to use the same keyboard and mouse for your PC and your games console, and want to be able to instantly switch between them then the "Gembird USB 2.0 Switching Hub" is a great product which solves this problem. I have written a review for that product too and would highly recommend it if you do decide to take the plunge and purchase one of these xim's.Overall a good product, but with a few fairly large issues which unfortunately means I cannot justify such a high price and have returned it for a refund. I can recommend "adz distribution" however, the delivery was fast and their customer support is very good.

This is a really good product - well made and lots of ongoing support for new games.Admittedly this lacks the XIM3's screen and hence it requires an app or pc to change settings, but once you've tweaked it you can dispense with the app and run it with hotkey binds for specific games.The audio passthrough issue is endemic to the PS4 only as on the xbox one it works via the wired headset (but not with the wireless adapter strangely - maybe it draws to much power).Tips for new owners: Turn off rumble on the game settings. It draws power away from the xim and will lose you connection.

I am a top player on PC, on console with a controller, on anything really. I've been playing multiplayer FPS games since Nintendo 64. I wouldn't buy a device like this, if it had input lag, or felt bad/made me play bad.I've used this device in Halo, COD, Overwatch and Destiny. In Destiny I was able to get top 1000 on the leaderboard on DestinyTracker for KD in the world, and 18th in the UK. I also had a 100% winrate in Trials of Osiris if you know what that is. This device is incredible and is definitely an unfair advantage. To get the most out of it, you should use the Xim4 forums and make sure your firmware is up to date and you are experimenting with profiles etc. I have gamed on PC for years so I didn't have to "learn" how to aim with the mouse. I went straight from being pretty good with a controller to insane with Xim4. I could jump into any game on Destiny and get the highest score and accuracy.Don't think that the device will feel perfectly like PC aiming, as it's not at all. That would be impossible without modding the console. XIM4 only emulates a controller, so you are still limited by how fast you can turn on max sensitivity on a game. I can't play without this now as I know I'm just gimping myself.

Product is very good and performs exactly as it is intended. The reason for me giving the 3 star review is because the product is not exactly straight forward to use and is extremely ugly as you are subjected to a web of cables. Product does exactly what it says on the tin, however I do not think it is appropriate to have so many different connections and clutter to achieve the desired effect.

The XIM 4. What can i say well its smaller than i thought it was going to be (bonus).This device is a must have for PC gamers that cant get used to control pads, the feel of game play is 99% perfect.Also if your looking to step up your game on fps games, this is perfect i don't care what anyone else says, i play a lot better with keyboard and mouse and my K/D is slowly getting better.The configuration of the XIM 4 is very simple, you plug it in download the app on your android phone, note: the app is not available for iOS. You then connect via bluetooth and you can do simple tasks such as mouse sensitivity, to mapping your keyboard to how ever you want it. There are more advanced setting but these are simple enough to get a grasp of.If you are on iOS, then XIM 4 comes with a CD to install on your pc or mac and its pretty much the same deal as above.The power cable is a hard wearing, braided cloth cable with a gold plated USB connector. Looks nice and has a decent length.Overall I recommend this above all others in its category.Well done XIM 4.

I'm sure for some people this will work right out of the box, but for others (like me), it is ridiculously frustrating. Set up instructions are poor, and should be tailored for each console. After-sales help is on their forum, but you have to look hard to find it, and leads you up several garden paths, and you need to be savvy to follow it. I never actually got mine working as it could never "see" my controller, and i changed it for the venom x, which is more user friendly.
