Tranquil even for grown ups!
I bought this even though it is aimed at young children because sometimes I find it hard to 'switch off' my brain at night and I was looking for something to relax me. I was a bit dubious about spending as much as it does cost but reading all the good reviews watching youtube reviews I took a risk. It paid off!The light show is in blue only and can be still or moving. I prefer it still. As a grown up you can see that it basically only moves in a circleand I find it a bit queasy to watch. I suffer quite badly from motion sickness though so for me it's more relaxing to just stare at the the patterns created on the ceiling which are lovely and intricate. The sounds, a song and natural sounds (waves coming in on a beach) are beautiful. There is only one song and it is rather repetitive but it is very relaxing and as someone else has written, like something you would hear in an aquarium (if anyone wants to hear it, do a search on youtube). The natural sounds are my favourite as I love the sea and I do find them very relaxing. You can choose no sound, natural sound or song (which has occasional seagulls in the background). What I also like and what I imagine will also be good for parents, is that you can adjust not only the brightness but also the volume. Volume control is on the buttons on the back of the turtle and the brightness wheel is on the battery compartment underneath. You can have it nice and bright or you can turn it down until it's really quite low. On high it gives quite good light and is a good night light, but if you just want something a bit less intense or less distracting you can adjust. The volume buttons are a bit small and set in so fingers can't adjust accidentally.Plus the turtle himself is just very cute! Good quality and lovely material. The blue has hints of purple in it and his expression is very tranquil too! All in all a lovely!

Excellent night light/lullaby
I bought two of these, one for each of my sons - age 5yrs and 2yrs. My 5yr old has had a bulky nightlight projector type thing since he was a baby but it ate batteries like nobody's business and was a pain to transport on holiday and overnight stays (which he insisted on). As he was so attached to his old projector I was concerned whether he would take to this but he absolutely loves it and his old one has been relegated to the cupboard! The turtle itself is quite cute and lays nicely on the bed without having to worry about them rolling on it and hurting themselves (unlike the old one which was solid plastic) and is much lighter, as well as taking fewer smaller batteries. So it will be better for travelling. There are several buttons - one for on/off, one for the type of sound played (soothing nature or lullaby) and then two volume buttons, up/down. There is also a brightness dial but this is underneath and covered by a flap - great idea as it makes it difficult for the kids to turn the light up to disco level by themselves! The buttons are quite small which I thought would make it fiddly for them to work out if they needed it on during the night, but this hasn't been a problem (my younger son doesn't touch his at all anyway, it is on a bedside cupboard and we just put it on for him at bedtime). The 'soothing nature' noises come first and then you press the same button twice more for the lullaby which is a bit of a pain as I would prefer the music first, but that is a minor gripe.Overall this is money well spent and has achieved exactly what I hoped - they are so relaxing I almost quite fancy one myself!

This totaly works!
My son is two and we have never had any trouble with putting him down to sleep since he was tiny. When we moved him from cot to a toddler bed (as he grew out of it),we endded up having to stay by his bedside untill he was asleep - which some nights was taking hours. On top of that he has problems with his tummy and kept waking up in the night 3 - 4 times with achey tummys, refusing to get back into the bed and this would go on all night for 4 weeks of no sleep for anyone. I researched nightlights that made soothing noises as my last resort to help him stay relaxed and make going to bed easyer. The cloudb turtle was what everyone raved about for all ages to help aid sleep and relaxation. As soon as it arrived he loved it. He loves looking at the waves it makes - it fills the whole room up, and within the 20mins that its on - he's fast asleep. And if he wakes up during the night for any reason, we put it back on again. This product really does work and worth every penny. Its now been 3 weeks and going very well. The noises that it makes even put me to sleep!

Lovely but quite expensive.
This is a very sweet and as the name suggests 'tranquil' item. I bought it for my 16 month old niece because she was having trouble sleeping in her cot. She loves listening to the soft music and watching the gently swaying lights. I quite like this item but it is quite expensive for what it is (essentially some L.E.D lights housed in a hard shell). If you have the money to spare then go ahead and buy but don't let this one break the bank for you.

Worth every penny!
Now, I very rarely write reviews because Iam so lazy but I seriously couldn't not write one.My three year old has always been a troublesome sleeper and it got to the stage where he was waking 3-6 times a night needing to be settled, constantly wanting 'mummy talk so I hear noise'. I realised he's naturally an auditory seeker, noise settles him and helps him to sleep. My OT friend suggested I try white noise. So I found this little dude, who plays the most soothing and relaxing 'white noise' while projecting waves. It has worked like an absolute dream, 2 weeks of peaceful nights sleep. My boy wakes up and presses the button himself, it lulls him back to sleep and turns off after 20 minutes.I wish I found this product three years ago.Buy it & sweet dreams!
