Renovo RHRBLA5001115 International Soft Top Reviver, Black, 500 ml, 500ml

Bought to recolour a MINI hood that had become discoloured after being parked under trees over the past two or three years - lots of tree sap, bird lime and general yellow/green patches on the black roof. It's worked beautifully and the 500ml bottle is just enough for a single coat. Cleaned first with the Renovo cleaner, the hood was then coated with the Reviver - apply with a 2" paintbrush taking care not to let it run. This stuff is really runny, so a damp cloth to catch spills is vital, but it covers very well and the colour is deep and rich - covered up all the remaining spots on the roof after the cleaner had done its thing. The 500ml bottle is just enough to do a MINI roof but a second coat (second bottle!) made the hood really dark and now it looks like new. The patches are well covered by the Reviver; forget the other stuff available, go straight to Renovo to get the job done properly.

Used to renovate my very mottled soft top. Did a great job of restoring the color without making it look patchy or shiny - which was my concern. I would have been worried about using this when my car was newer, but now that I’ve tried it I would definitely not hesitate next time round.

This product is pricey,but works well to jolly up your convertible up for the summer season-but NOT long term.However,no matter how careful you are-it WILL find its way onto your paintwork/windows (its water consistency),then you'll find its an absolute swine to get off either windows or bodywork.

My top looks like new again. Very happy with the product and its effect. I would say when applying to be careful and ensure you have cleaned off any water-repellant because even cleaned it's very running and hard to prevent it from running onto widows and bodywork! If it helps I treated mine by; - Hovering off dust - Rinsing with water - Washing with a weak solution of fabric roof shampoo - Cleaned using a solution of Milton using a horsehair brush to ensure I killed and removed any algae (Did this multiple times and replaced solution each time.) - Rinsed off the roof a few times - Once fully dry applied the restorer. (Not in direct sunlight) - Applied fabsil gold once dry to waterproof it.

It's seems quite runny at first but as long as you squeeze the excess from the brush I found it really easy to apply without it dripping or running. My MX5 mk2 hood was quite badly soiled and faded in places (over 20 years old) and it looks as good as new now. I managed one coat inside and out and then a second coat outside from one 500ml bottle. Being very careful not to let it drip it went on the inside of the hood like a charm so all that sun fading inside is now also gone.

I rarely leave feedback as I am just to lazy and busy but this stuff is so good, I just felt I had to. First of all I have not been paid for my review so its honest. My wife has a 2007 Mazda MX5 with a mohair soft top. Since we have owned it I have not bothered cleaning it once other then get my car washed for a £5.00. As a result, the soft top has lost its natural colour and was covered in mould. I considered replacing it but did not want to pay £600 so I thought I would give this product a shot. I purchased all three products from RENOVO. The cleaner, the recolour and the waterproofer. I used the cleaner with cold water and it did not work. I then changed up. I scrubbed the roof with boiling hot water and then applied the cleaner. I waited an hour and then scruffed again with boiling water, rinsing off with cold water. I did this twice and my roof was completely clean. There is enough of the cleaner liquid to do the Mazda roof 5 times. I then recoloured and BOOM!. Brand new roof. I did this twice (more then enough for twice over) I then waterproofed, again enough for more then twice over. I highly recommend these items. I am now buying some more waterproofer so i can do the roof once a month. BUY IT!!

I own an old(ish) Alfa Spider and the top was looking a bit faded, especially where I think a previous owner may have jet-washed it. I was looking for something to revive it and found this. It works, and has improved the appearance quite markedly. The only reason it doesn't score higher is that, although it can be used alone, and the product blurb on Amazon reads like this, when you read the instructions on the bottle I got the distinct impression that the soft top should have been cleaned with their (Renovo) cleaner, then following application it should be further treated with Renovo water proofer. So its not quite a one-stop-shop, and I felt like it would have been useful to know this before I bought it. In the event, I had some soft top cleaner already (admittedly another brand bought from a proprietary motoring store) so I used that and it worked fine. However, had I known, I probably would have bought all three Renovo products as they are clearly compatible and meant to compliment each other.
