Large Wicker Bicycle Basket

This basket is fabulous. I ensured I bought a frame for it to sit on, I've seen other bike users without and their basket soon sags. Mine is used everyday on my commute to work - carrying laptop, lunch, books etc. No problems at all. I have a nice neon basket cover that protects everything and hence can really load my basket, which is a fab large size - so it's just down to my ability to carry the load!My puppy also loves this basket, she's a 10 mth old yorkiepoo so fully grown now, hence will have years of fun with this. I pop her carry bag in there so it's soft for her and she happily sits in it in the basket, looking out the front as I cycle along with her ears flapping in the wind. She loves going to the park on the bike. Fab basket, one of my best purchases.UPDATE: I've had this for several years now and it's been fantastic. Puppy fully grown and dognapped by daughter, so her son who is 8kg goes in this now everyday. He loves it, I do put a blanket in there for him though and underneath that is my large kryptonite D-lock - so yes this basket can carry some weight! I commuted to work daily with this too. Over time it's become a bit wonky, but that's my fault for leaning the basket against walls - lesson learnt. Excellent product!

This is as good as it could be, beautiful colour.To preserve the light colour, I coated it twice with Osmo Polyx-Oil, leaving it to soak in in between coats. Also to extend the life, as baskets go brittle if they dry out - but the oil feeds the "wood" (reed).Mounted on a "sit up and beg" Pashley bike (so comfortable to ride) this basket collects admiring looks.It really is large, so can stuff it with shopping and unplanned purchases.The basket came with leather straps for the handle bars but will need to be mounted onto a bracket underneath to support the base. Tip: mount underneath with big penny washers both sides to spread the load.

Looks fab on the bike, but will need to purchase supports too as feels like it wouldn't hold much. One major floor though is that, although I wanted a larger basket, the bike now won't fit through the metal bike styles (that allow bikes onto bike tracks and footpaths) and I have to put the bike onto its back wheel (in which case empty the basket) or lift it over - not an easy task with an ebike.

Very nice basket. It is my second one. First one was bought 4 years ago and was heavily used. By the end of the 4th year it still looks fine, bearing in mind bike was kept outside under rain, snow and sun. It is easy to fit if ypu do have a brackets already. Definitely will recommend.

...unless you are tall and therefore have your handlebars set higher, you will definitely need a support for the bottom of the basket to prevent it sitting on the mudguard and pushing it down onto the tyre.

I've always had wicker baskets but sadly if they are left in the rain too many times, they start to fall apart. I'm always struggling to fit my bag and shopping in my usual baskets so investigated larger ones. This one was quite a big bigger and I was worried it wouldn't fit or look silly. But it's fantastic. It perfectly fits my bike which is quite small (I'm 5'3") and it holds loads of stuff. It's very strong too. I'll never go back to a smaller basket again.

Very goodI wanted a refund xtra large basket to fit my dog and my sons school bag and this is perfect I can also fit my handbrake eater bottle with my dog and school bag in it Or only my dog with a fluffy blankie as bedding

Big sturdy basket with 'old style' good straps that do what they are supposed to do. I added a hooked-band to hold it in place for good measure but only to be sure! Admored by others as you can get lots inside and can cover it with a large plastic bag or something to allow it to be used with items above the rim... really good buy, even if quite dear!
