Does everything you need it to do
A very small amount of this powder did a really great job backflushing with a cleaning cycle in my Breville Barista Express espresso machine. I also soaked the portafilter pieces in a small dish of water with the BioCaf mixed in, and it cleaned all pieces well. This works as good as Cafiza, with a lot less of the fumes that you get from the Cafiza. Cost is also very similar, so was an easy decision for me.

My coffee pot is so clean
I bought this by mistake (I meant to buy a coffee machine descaler) but after seeing the reviews, I decided to use it instead of returning it. My coffee pot looks amazing now! It only took one use. Much more effective than the lemon juice I had been using, and it is a good value for how much product you get.

Easy to use and very effective
Used this with a Zojirushi stainless steel carafe yesterday that hadn’t been thoroughly cleaned in years (gross, I know). I’d previously used the blue liquid cleaner from Urnex a while back that was made for commercial coffee maker carafes, but I seem to have misplaced that bottle in our recent move. Saw that this powder was more eco friendly and gave it a shot. The instructions said to put a 1/2 tsp into the brewing basket directly for 64 oz of water. I was super skeptical about how that tiny amount could possibly clean it but gave it a shot. After letting it brew and sit for about 45 min (forgot about it), came back to a sparkling clean carafe! Afterwards I rinsed the carafe and basket thoroughly. I was pretty amazed and it was definitely far easier to use than the blue liquid cleaner (and way cheaper too). Will be using this regularly from now on.

Works great
I have an OXO 9 cup coffee maker (which I also love), and this works great for cleaning it. The stainless steel carafe was getting stained, and not cleaning with regular soap, etc. On someone's advice, I put in a regular dishwasher tablet and filled it with hot water and let it soak, and that cleaned it like new. However, I bought this Biocaf cleaner to try, and it works just as well. After using, the carafe looks perfectly shiny and new inside. And I run it through the coffee maker also, and it returns the water tank to beautifully clean too- after months of use, it starts getting a little brown and cloudy from my well water. So, this does a very good job, and is economical. Definitely recommended- ditch the other cleaners, use this product which is meant for the job!

Great for Coffee mugs, teapots or stainless steal thermal jugs
I don't have a coffee machine as I only do pour over at home. However, this product works very nicely to clean coffee mugs, teapots or stainless steel thermal mugs/jugs. You need very little of this to clean small items (1/4 teaspoon max). After soaking your items for about 30m, you do need to use a sponge or brush to remove the stains. This solutions will only soften it up to be removed by scrubbing. It won't disappear magically. However, I like that it is bio degradable, and doesn't leave any lingering odors or taste.

Excellent cleaner for home coffee equipment
Used with very hot water, this removed years' worth of coffee scum from our carafe (it has such a narrow mouth, nothing but a bottle washer will fit in it, and the oils just laughed at the little sponge). The stuff actually lifted off in sheets, like old wet leaves. And it did a beautiful job on the coffee press.I also used it in a large HydraPeak water bottle that my husband had been using to carry his coffee around, thereby stinking-up the cylinder, the lid, and the seal. Hard to enjoy a drink of water that smells like an old diner. It removed every bit of the coffee odor from the metal and nearly all from the hard plastic. The silicone seals are a lost cause, I'm afraid, even after multiple applications -- but the only thing that will remove ANY odor from silicone is a few days in strong sunlight.

Works for Coffee Roasters, Too!
I have been very successful in using this cleaning solution mixed in a food-safe 5 gallon bucket to clean coffee oils and buildup on stainless steel coffee roaster panels and other processing equipment.Of course, this also works well for coffee brewers, containers, mugs, and accessories that have coffee oil buildup on them. Soak following the instructions and it just wipes/rinses away. A little powder goes a long way so this container is a great value.
