Sony VCT-STG1 Shooting Grip for Action Cam - Black

I ordered this when I ordered the camera and am pleased I did.The tripod / grip works well with the camera and the small remote screen too.Good quality and not much else to say, it does what it says it does.

For what it is it's pretty good, but given the price it could be a little more solid, and the handle could have been a bit bigger / longer. If you're doing a follow cam on skis / snowboards for example, then you're probably wearing chunky gloves or mittens and it felt a bit small. Would be nice to have a tactile surface (rubber / foam) on this bit as well. But I think it's probably better than the finger grip for this purpose - although I've not compared the two.

Excellent grip, especially for the FDR-X3000 (you have to remove the extra plastic holder for the older camera remote controls). Used it while skiing and was super useful. The three legs also make it versatile enough as a tripod.

So practical, I'm using my old Sony action cam with this grip and I'm sure this will work much better with X3000 r which is arriving soon.Update: Now I'm using the grip with my Sony x3000r and it is fun to use the camera with this grip.

I bought this more for use as a tripod and i could not be happier. Very stable, it can even hold the weight of my dslr. Great choice if you plan to do any time laps videos.

This is really, unexpectedly cheaply made. If it didn't have the Sony name it would be a few pounds.
