Spear & JacksonBWF3 1/2" Female & 1/2" Male Brass Hose Connectors

I bought these to replace some decrepit plastic ones and they are superb and don't leak. I had foolishly convinced myself that they had "water stop" and could be disconnected when the tap was still turned on. So I suggested that my long suffering wife could change nozzles without turning off the tap. She has not forgiven me for the drenching that she got and I am still sniggering about it. However, that aside, they are considerably more robust than plastic fittings and will probably outlast me (at my age most things will :-).

Far superior to the plastic albeit cheaper alternatives. I've used these before and they last forever. Needed to replace a couple of those (broken) plastic connections so no hesitation in going for a superior product. Okay you pay a little extra but it will say money in the long run.

On the whole the items are good value. The only critics would be the The plastic insert that grips the hose is not really ‘mam’ enough to retain the hose unless water pressure is reduced. I feel that a design that incorporates a hose clip e.g similar to those securing vehicle hoses.decrease

Good bore to you lose less pressure than with a plastic fitting. Good grip on the outside so easy to use. Mine drives six sprinklers daily in turn so is on and off a lot. Much better than any others I have used.

Heard brass ones were better than plastic and more longer lasting. Am happy so far as they seem solid and you can replace seals. If the need arises. Time will tell

Leaks terribly, worse the the hozelock one it replaced - I'm using it with the matching Spear & Jackson brass unit on the tap and water pours out of the connection, this is rubbish and I'll be replacing it with a Karcher one

Thought this was perfect - 2 months, no leaks and no cats (I brought this to connect a water cat deterrent). But then the little screw thing fell out and I have a connector in pieces. Not happy..

Fits on my hose. Fits on my pressure washer. The dog can't destroy it with her big teeth when she wants to be sprayed with more water. Fabulous! Also my 13 year old son wanted one as a replacement for his fidget spinner as it has a satifying click... he'll have to buy his own at £8!
