Good quality, light
Good straight light fork, bought to replace a heavy pair of trekking suspension forks.

Not perfect but good enough
I normally purchase a new Halfords Carrera Vulcan or Vengeance model every two to three years, they are always on sale at some point so are incredibly good value for what you get, I have cycled the great glen way and the west Highland way on them numerous times without any issues, I am 19 stone over 6ft and I have all my gear with me, tent backpack food water so total weight is very high. I wouldn't use them for the full bike park experience, however they are heavy bikes, as i also spend a lot if time commuting and carrying shopping on my bike rack i wanted to be able to swap out the heavy suspension fork for a lightweight version, I had a look and spotted this one. It's easly fitted if you have moderate experience but even a novice could do it, the fork seems strong and well made while not high tech looking, you don't get any extras at all so have to use all the parts from the original fork but tbf these are all easily removed and adjusted (star bolt etc) and fitted to the new fork, it was perfectly true as far as alignment and the disk brake caliper and swapped over with no issues. I also fitted road balloon tyres which although almost as big as the trail tyres have a road tread, the first time I tried the bike it felt incredibly lightweight It was almost effortless on the flat so I was flying along. Also lifting it upstairs is so much easier now.The only thing I had to do was file down the plastic insert that fits under the fork to attach the mudguard as the hole on this fork is a good few millimeters narrower then the standard fork, but this took me minutes, so not a big deal.Very happy with the fork so far, just wish I had done it years ago for especially for road commuting,

Moderate experience required
Excellent quality for the price, knowledge of bicycle mechanics is definitely required.
