This is amazing, and I'd say completely ignore the two negative reviews on here. The cartridge fits fine if pulled in from below, and it only goes mouldy if you don't keep using it and leave it in direct sunlight, and the water tastes AMAZING! Like SO much nicer than bottled mineral water, which is mostly just tap water anyway. It tastes so fresh and light and actually makes you want to drink water, which I know is a struggle for a lot of people! But we should be drinking 2-4 litres a day, depending on our weight, for our bodies to function properly. The filters cost around £10 per month which is less that we were spending on bottled water, and with loads less impurities in it, so it's a no brainer really. Also the support so far has been fantastic, comprehensive replies to my questions emailed back within a day usually, so I would highly recommend it! I just had a bit of bottled water as was driving and had no Acala water with me, and it tasted awful by comparison! Go get one! My Mum's in on the way too!

I'm a water filter fanatic... I was allergic to tap water over 30 years ago, and consequently have tried most types of water filter. I was currently using the Eva water filter, but their filter cartridges had some big problems. So the British Berkefeld deals with our main water filter usage currently. But I very much like the AcalaQuel ... it is still made of plastic, which is why it didn't get 5 stars... the taste of the water is superior to the Berkefeld... we have also tried experiments with friends and they always prefer the taste of the water from the AcalaQuel...It feels like the AcalaQuel fills a huge gap in the market for a very good quality water filter that's not too expensive, is seriously portable (goes in the suitcase), fits in the fridge, and filters the tap water (Brighton UK seriously grotty) to that of a mountain spring...! 👍🏼Linda Hirschberg

This filter is in a league of its own! I have used numerous water filters, but none compared to this at all, either in design, or the quality of the filtered water. Easy to assemble, easy to understand instructions, aesthetically pleasing, robust German design, and very clean tasting water. Expensive, but well worth it. I have just ordered 6 months worth of filter cartridges. Definitely recommended n

Had this for a month and a half and love it. Water tastes so good and clean. Sits nicely in my fridge door and no need to buy bottled water anymore, so no plastic! I would highly recommend on all levels.

I really wanted to like this, not only because it's expensive as are the replacement filters but other reviewers liked it. I did a test using tap water, a Brita jug and the Acala, The Acala reduced the Nitrate (NO3) by around 10% to the Brita and Tap, the Hardness was 5% better than the Brita and 15% for the tap, PH though was HIGHER than the Brita by 10% and 15% for the tap! the booklet shows an 'Optional' Lime-scale filter (that you don't get with the jug) and I can't find where you get one, however it is supposed to sit above the 'Microsponge' filter but the plastic cap that is supposed to hold the it in place is not up to the job and allows water to leech past the filter so fitting the lime-scale filter would make this even worse probably impossible, perhaps that's why I couldn't get one!The filter cartridge has to be really jammed into the housing to make it seal so could in time be a pig to remove, if it's not jammed in then water leeches past ALL the filters and is easily missed, the housing itself is tricky to get out of the jug (the booklet says it has to be to stop any water getting by but it could not as it's flush with the top of the jug), and it's not very high quality plastic and made me cringe shoving the thing in hard enough to seal.When giving this one star the description comes up of 'I hated it' and I can't disagree with that. photo attached shows simple litmus test with tap water at top Brita in the middle and then Acala,

Bought this for the office and am very happy. Water taste's better than Britta-Filter.I took a while to compare having owned Britta Filters for almost 20 years... and in the end decided to go with this AcalaQuell. The cartridges last 2+ months and I am sure with single person use that it'll last longer!However the filtration surpasses the Britta-Filter and I am pleased with the choice.

Im not happy to this item. Its difficult to clean.the upper jag is stacked and its very difficult to remove.the filter is stacked as well. It takes time to clean! The sponge is the most horrible one.it becomes green easily (moldy) i kept contacting the seller and they are very quick to response but im telling them im not satisfied and keep teaching me what to do! It didnt help..i want to return and told me to go through amazon and i cant return anymore...really upset me cos i paid a fortune and for me its useless now...this is my first time to wrote a very bad review.

J'aime l'eau mais souvent j'achète des bouteilles que je commande à Eau de Monde. Une petite fortune chaque mois. Alors j'ai essayé et mon eau du robinet qui n'était pas bonne et devenue excellente... J'ai bien suivi les conseils de mise en route et c'est PARFAIT. J'en suis là première étonnée

Filter ist bei uns jetzt seit einem Monat im Einsatz. Super Wasserqualität die man spürt und vor allem schmeckt. Auch die Kinder schmecken den Unterschied.Beim Zusammenbauen gab es keine Probleme. Man muss nur alles richtig "einrasten" bis man ein Klick hört, was ja irgendwie logisch ist, wenn man bedenkt, dass (zum Glück) keine Klebstoffe verwendet werden um das ganze System zusammen zu halten!Ich kann den Filter nur empfehlen!!!Kleiner Tipp: alle paar Tage muss man ein paar mal oben auf das Schwämmchen drücken um für einen Druckausgleich in der Katusche zu sorgen. Beim Filtern und gleichzeitigem Ausgießen kann ein Vakuum im Filter entstehen, dass den Durchlauf sonst deutlich verlangsamt.

au debut je penser que ca marcher mais ca ne changer pas trop le gout de l'eau puis je me suis rendu compte que ca ne passer pas par le filtre, il faut vraiment bien faire attention que ce dernier soit bien placer, une fois bien placer l'eau ne coullée plus du tout plusieur echange et explication avec le founisseur pour reussir a enlever les bulles qui bloquer l'eau, du cout ca fonctionne mais il ne faut pas etre presser car c'est du goute a goute qui tombe il vaut mieux donc anticiper car si vous ne voulez pas attendre et vous servir vu que le couvercle n'ai pas clipsable vous en renverser partout, sinon je reconné que l'eau a vraiment un meilleur gout qu'en sortant du robiné
