Sega Megadrive 2 II AV cable TV lead

Delivery was quick. I fished my old mega drive out but had no leads to connect it to my new tv. Bought theseand connected to the red white and yellow ports in the tv. At first nothing worked but , after seeing a you tube video, I blew on the game tape before inserting it and it works! Now I can use my retro games.

I could not get the plug to fit into my Mega Drive 2 and could not get picture or sound. It turned out that the diameter of the AV plug shielding is a little too big when trying to connect it. I had to trim the shielding and it now fits perfectly.I bought the AV cable because the RF one I had with the Mega Drive was not working very well with LCD TVs. The sound kept cutting out at times, but its no issue with this new AV cable. I get a better picture and stereo sound that doesn't cut out at all, and I can now play my Mega Drive! Very happy customer!

EDIT: Looking back at this, I will say that from the part where it splits to the Video/L-R Audio is a bit fragile, and could break if pulled on or not paid attention to, still works a treat though.The steps I took:- Unpack this cable- Dragged my old Sega Megadrive from my closet- Plugged everything into my Panasonic Viera HD TV- Switched it all on- Smiled at the decrease in blurriness and the increase of colour.- Played a solid 3-4 hours of Dragons Fury and Streets of Rage 2 without any issues whatsoever.All I can say is that when it splits into the 3 cables for the AV, just be careful because the 3 separated cables look a bit on the thin side, and may not take much abuse.In summary: I recommend this to anyone who wants to give that bit more of a life to their Sega Megadrive/genesis.

The Megadrive is such an amazing console and well capable of still proving to have insanely fun and hard games, whether you are veteran on COD or a pro gamer today, the Mega Drive can most likely put up a real fight against your skills.I needed to put this console onto an HDTV and so I needed this cable to plug into a scart adaptor which plugs into a scart to HDMI converter. It does the job great, the cables are a bit thin as I've heard but take care with it and it won't give you any problems. I'm now playing a mega drive on a 46 inch LED tv, if only I knew this would be my future when I was 6 and playing on a 14inch portable tv.

Unfortunately If you have a 32x connected to a generation 1 megadrive this cable will ONLY give you video and NO audio. The reason for this has got something to do with the fact that the generation 1 megadrive outputs stereo sound on its own while the generation 2 outputs mono only as does the 32x only output mono. However You can get sound from the Generation 1's Earphone socket, I am very happy with this product over all, as long as I can get composite video I'm happy enough, also the seller sent me out a second cable while we sent emails back and forth trying to work out why I couldn't get sound, I eventually came across a website that explained it.

Worked completely fine. On PAL devices some TVs might try to display in 60hz which causes a weird black and white picture but generally changing the input channel or turning the TV off and on fixes it and the TV displays it normally, or using a 50hz mode if its available. It's not a problem to do with the lead or console.

I've had no luck with theses Sega rgb cables. None have worked very well on any of my set ups. The cable itself seems good quality so perhaps my consoles are the problem. I'm not sure so three stars seems fair enough.

Received on time. Works fine so far. Seen another comment which indicated that it stopped working within a few months but I have had no problems so far
