Great product
This item allowed me to install a shower in my bathtub for my daughter. She broker her leg and was unable to stand to shower and needed to sit. She was unable to get her leg wet and this faucet allowed me to attach a shower head in the tub so that she could sit on a handicap chair and still be able to shower without standing. I would recommend this product! It works great and was very easy to install.

Works well, slip-on application instructions a little lacking
Wanted to convert a tub into a tub/shower in an apartment because the separate shower was just too small for my liking. It was difficult to get leak-free using the slip-on connection style, so this is how I did it: 1. Cut the long plastic adapter as noted in the instructions. 2. Lightly assemble the long plastic adapter and the brass slip-on adapter, just finger tight. 3. Place the assembly beside the copper pipe coming out of the wall as noted on the instruction sheet, snug against the wall, to check for fit. 4. As noted in the instruction sheet, cut the copper pipe if it is longer than the slip-on adapter/plastic adapter assembly. (Mine was fine.) 5. Disassemble the slip-on adapter from the long plastic adapter. 6. Wrap the threads of the slip-on adapter and the long plastic adapter 4 times with the Teflon tape, as noted on the instruction sheet. 7. Re-assemble to finger tight the brass slip-on adapter and the long plastic adapter. 8. Screw this assembly into the tub spout, finger tight. 9. Using a good pair of slip joint pliers, tighten the assembly until good and snug, taking care to ensure the set screw is pointed towards the slot at the bottom of the tub spout. (If yours is like mine, the slip-on adapter will not be flush with the end of the tub spout, which reveals the issue with the instructions as printed - you cannot get a good thread seal when the wall stops the tub spout from screwing far enough on the adapter.) 10. Using just a little soap to lubricate and protect the O-ring, slip the spout assembly onto the copper pipe, making sure the set screw is not protruding too far into the brass slip-on adapter. 11. Using the Allen wrench provided or your own, tighten the set screw just snug enough to prevent easy movement of the tub spout. 12. Caulk the perimeter to prevent water getting into the wall, excluding the slot on the bottom of the spout. The side adapter takes a standard hand-held shower hose. There are many holders for the shower head, since you can't generally use the ones that thread onto a shower pipe. I chose this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0765NP48M/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Mediocre and Overpriced Product
The product worked and is mechanically sturdy, so I will give it 4 stars. But I do have complaints ... First, there is a set screw to anchor a collar to 1/2-inch copper pipe. The instructions indicate not to overtighten, or you may damage the pipe. I didn't overtighten, but I did deform the pipe (just a little, and certainly not enough to lower the cross-sectional area by a percent or two or three). The problem with this mechanical arrangement is that copper is a soft metal, and it is easy to deform. "Don't overtighten" is too vague. A similar product (but without the hose output) from American Standard has a much more clever mechanical arrangement. Their product uses a screw with a stop so it is impossible to deform the copper pipe more than a little. American Standard recognized the dangers of a set screw with a very soft underlying metal. Delta did not. Second, the water output is "dribbly" and along the edges of the final opening, even with high water flow. Delta could have done a better mechanical job of keeping the water output in a neater stream. Third, the product is overpriced. A similar product from American Standard (with a diverter but without the hose output) is half the price. The product absolutely functions. I just feel that Delta could have done a better job.

Saved a lot of money looks good, be gentle when using it because the adapter pipe is flimsy
It's a great low cost solution if you need a shower but don't want to get behind your wall for serious plumbing. However, durability may be a problem. If you are gentle when you use it or you can do the plumbing yourself it is not a big issue. Our shower riser was leaking behind our wall and a plumber quoted us $1,600 to replace the shower not counting cutting the wall open and putting it back together which were services he didn't even offer or know who to refer us to. We hired another plumber for $200 to take off the existing spout and put this one on because we could not get the old one off. Our new spout stuck out too far from the wall because we needed to use the adapter pieces in the kit so we purchased a spout extension (Jones Stephens Corporation GIDDS-101501 D01-030 Jones Stephens 3" Diverter Spout Extension, 3", Chrome) and cover ring for about $40 and cut the spout extension ourselves using a jig saw with a metal blade and then caulked everything together. However, ours broke after a month and we hired a second plumber to install a second one. He said it will work but how long is a good question. You have to be GENTLE turning on the diverter and when you turn off the diverter ONLY do it by turning off the water. DO NOT make the plastic converter pipe flex up and down when you turn the diverter on and off. And, DO NOT run a lot of water and especially HOT water through it without mixing it with cold. He said a lot of hot water could contribute to the unit failing too soon. Update - The new unit has been working fine now for over a year and I still recommend it. We have been very gentle when we used it and if you are gentle you should not have a problem. It sure beats tearing up your wall.

Great build and nice design. Did not have any problem it fitted perfectly with the supplied adaptor which by the way you can cut if its too long by about 1/2" (be sure to use the supplied teflon). I am pretty sure it will not leak as the previous one I bought at the hardware store for maybe 10$ less which began to leak after 1 year because of corrosion as the internal pipe of this unit goes all the way from the wall to the spout. It feels sturdy and diverts all the water to the shower head without any loss to the bath.

Package had already been opened and staples and tape was used to secure it together. It doesn't look like any parts are missing but won't know until we installed in a few weeks. Shouldn't have been sold as new if already opened; or should have been stated in the description that it was considered to be used.

THis thing is supposedly universal but it didn't work with the previous Delta set up we had there. It's too small.

Cheap but does the job. Good enough for a couple of years.
