Perfect bag, love it
I used to have one of these as my school bag, decades ago! I am in a wheelchair so a bag ideally needs to be across the body and be sturdy, so i gave this a go.I'm so pleased with it.It's very reasonably priced, great sturdy quality and looks fab (I'm an aging punkygoth, I don't do trendy). There's lots of room inside - I can easily fit a small sketchbook, the usual bits and bobs that are essential to everyday life, a bottle of water, phone, spare mask, anti bac.Seriously, it's like a tardis! There aren't any separated sections inside, so i keep a few handy things in a small zipped bag to save The Rummage.I'm chuffed with it and will be buying the haversack version. Yes I'm old.Very happy to recommend. Thanks for reading, I hope you find this review helpful.

Just image not having to pay 5p again.
I needed a small bag for out-and-about travels but hate the trendy 'man-bags' that retail for so much cash. The beauty of this one is its hard-wearing retro nature and absolute refusal to look fashionable. Naturally, if I lived in Shoreditch I'd be paying £100 for this. So, as somewhere to stash one's gentleman things (phone, tablet, glasses, camera, water, children's offloaded junk) without looking as you've stepped out of a Sunday supplement its just the job.The bag is just how it looks. Simple, rough fabric with no fancy features. There are no internal dividers so its really flexible. It wont be waterproof so don't go swimming with it. Its not a big bag so don't expect to get a laptop or the kitchen sink in there. So get one of these and stop paying 5p for a carrier bag!Only downside, was the vendor took ages to deliver but that doesn't diminish the product any

Short Strap
I wanted this to hold my dog walking bits and pieces. I'm 6ft2 and the bag with the strap at full length only comes to the small of my back, not my hips where I would prefer it to hang. I may find a way to extend this strap if I can be bothered to find a replacement strap. Also the buckles to hold the bag closed are a bit fiddly so I have added poppers to close and open the flap quicker and more easily. Overall, the bag itself is a good size and seems well made for my needs - it's a good little satchel. My points above only consider my personal circumstances or preferences.

exactly like the one I used to have!
I had one of these bags about ten years ago I got from an old army and navy store and it lasted for YEARS of daily use, and I ordered this hoping it would be similar, turns out it's the exact thing just marketed by a different company! just the right size for daily use and fit's an A4 sketchbook in perfectly with plenty of space for other stuff like a pencil case, bottle of water etc :)

I loved this bag when I saw it on Amazon
I loved this bag when I saw it on Amazon. I was not sure of how the product would be but trusted my gut and bought it. I am so pleased that I did. Its quaint with an amazing retro look. I actually got reminded of my school days :DSimple and strong. This is going to be one of my favourite casual bag for a long long time.

No zip closure, but excellent bag
Wow! Only ordered this yesterday and it's here by 14.00 next day. Excellent service. Lovely quality bag. Just what I was hoping for. A good size for a go to handbag, to just chuck a few bits in to head down the pub or wander on a festival site. The strap is a good size for me me but I'm just a short arse. 😀 if your freakishly tall you would probably need a different bag with a longer strap. No zip fastening but I may consider adding a couple of press studs for more secure closure in the future... See how it goes first though. Very pleased if you hadn't gathered that.😁 highly recommend.

Very basic but robust.
Just as described, nothing fancy but robustly put together. I'm 6' tall with short legs and a long back, and I find the strap long enough. Not at all waterproof, but you can put your phone, keys etc. in a plastic bag inside!

Not authentic military quality but "it will do"
As a boy I used to buy authentic army surplus haversacks for all sorts of uses (like panniers for my bicycle) so I have a working reference for this type of bag. This bag is NOT army surplus quality, but for many it will be adequate. The fabric is soft with no significant stiffness (i.e. it's floppy), which may or may not be an issue. The seam stitching is a single line of wide-spaced stitches and so not very robust - I doubt it will resist carrying much weight over the years. What was definitely disappointing is that the shoulder strap is adjustable (both ends) but is rather short even at full extension. I'm 6'2" and at full extension reached the small of my back. I prefer to carry my bags lower, such as on my hip, so this doesn't support that habit. I'm keeping it but will use it with crossed fingers.
