Hatsune Miku Project Diva F

Personally I'm not big into Vocaloid or kawaii animé girls so it was a real joy for me to find out how addictive and enjoyable this game was and after playing the demo I just had to get it into my PS3 collection. Import physical only? No problem, and I don't regret a single penny.Hatsune Miku Project Diva F is, at its core, a fairly basic rhythm game. You press the correct buttons in time to the beat of the music to score points. In some cases you hold down the button along with a drawn out note and in others you must press both the button and the correct D-Pad direction simultaneously. You also have Star icons which require you to quickly flick the joystick.The prompts will appear on the screen as transparent icons and their solid counterparts will fly in from the side of the screen towards them. When they overlap you must complete the prompt, the higher the precision the better your score.What brings the gameplay together is the excellent Vocaloid music and fantastic PS3 HD visuals. There are 38 different songs to choose from and each can be played at 4 levels of difficulty ranging from Easy to Normal, Hard and Extreme. You select a song, select and customise a Vocaloid to sing it (more on that in a bit), customise your button press SFX and then start the song. Play through the sequence and at the end of each song your score will be shown as well as assigned a grade. The grades are Good, Great, Excellent and Perfect.When I first started playing I was struggling to barely achieve Good on Normal difficulty!This was thanks to how distractingly beautiful the song videos are. (n-not like I have bad rhythm skills or anything, baka!)The Vocaloids will dance, sing, play, cry and just come to life in fantastically rendered environments full of vibrant colour. This is all being displayed at an incredibly crisp 1080p which is outstanding for the PS3 hardware. It's a visual feast however it will take some practise for you to start concentrating on the incoming button prompts rather than watching Miku and Luka do battle atop dragons.Everything is carried by the energy of the Vocaloid music. If you're new to this franchise like I was you might be a little hesitant about the idea of kawaii virtual singers and weeb music but going into it with an open heart you will be swept up into the Miku craze. The music is catchy and you will find yourself humming it at times. At best the synthesised singers sound very nearly human while at worst like a singer using synth effects on their voice. I have only a slight grasp on the Japanese language myself so I may miss subtleties in human voice comparison but looking into Vocaloid it's a very impressive technology.My favourite songs are Weekender Girl and God Tier Tune but with 38 to choose from there is enough variety to keep every playthrough fresh.Another part of the game I want to comment on would be the Diva Room. Diva Room lets you spend some downtime between music sessions with the Vocaloids. You can pet them and play a game of janken with them here in order to raise their happiness meter. Another way to raise the meter is to gift them foods and other items which can be bought from the shop using the points you accumulate in the Rhythm Game. The shop is also where you can buy new furniture and clothes to really customise the Vocaloids and their rooms. There are many different costumes and clothing pieces to choose from all of which can be used in the Rhythm section of the game. This adds a nice extra bit of content to the main game.Sadly, my time was limited with the game as I was on a bit of a schedule, so I can't go into much detail about the Online and Custom Song Editor modes. CSE looks to be a pretty in depth portion for the creatively inclined and Online mode allows you to share your creation or enjoy the songs other players have created.I give Hatsune Miku Project Diva F a full five stars for being such a complete, polished, package. Excellent all around Gameplay, Visual and Audio with everything to please veteran fans as well as introduce new ones.

A brilliant addition to any project diva collection, came in excellent condition and greatly received. A good selection of songs modules and accessories.

Arrived in time for Christmas daughter very pleased.

Bought mine from Nin Nin Game. Case & disc in perfect condition, included the manual and extra leaflets. Only took about a week from purchasing to receiving! Also very happy with the price, <£20 for an import. Pleased all round.

Plays on any PS3, cool game, retro style but bright and happy gameplay.I can't see how anyone would not like this game. Bubbly tunes, cute characters,cool videos.

Slight language barrier but easily resolved with a translating website. Would reccomend to any fan of vocaloid or rhythmn games.

Gameplay is good, Miku is cute, Music is really good.

Project Diva F è uno dei migliori music game che ho provato:vivace e colorato nei video,difficile nel gameplay e con delle canzoni azzeccate e molto belle.Per chi non conosce Hatsune Miku e i Vocaloid questo è il titolo giusto per apprezzarli al meglio !

It's a very fun game that requires timing and its also cool cuz its about the vocaloids and so on.
