This tool is great for those times when you need to punch a few holes in THIN sheet metal. If that's all you need it for, then this tool could be just the solution you need.If you are doing a larger project where you'll need to punch MANY holes, there are a few things to consider.First, the design of the actuating handle doesn't feel well designed from the point of view of ergonomics. The toll has a gauge to ensure precise positioning depth from the edge of the material, but its very tricky to adjust, and it doesn't stay in adjustment.The castings for the main body are somewhat crude and ill-defined. It just feels like a cheap tool, similar to Harbor Freight low end stuff or Northern Tool entry level stuff. It's simply not a professional quality tool.In all fairness, it's not as expensive as a pro tool, either. The punch dies are of reasonable quality, but the leverage of the tool is poorly thought out, which makes it hard to use. The added bonus of the included case is nice, because tools such as this will spend most of their life in the case. It's not a tool most people would have a need to use every day, and honestly most people wouldn't even use one every year, either.It certainly has its place in a home-owners arsenal for that rare occasion when you need to punch a few holes, but If you need to punch a lot of holes in 1/16" (or thinner) Aluminum, it would be wise to spend a little more on a better tool.

I use this to punch holes in aluminum sheet. It does the job. One of the sides of the hole is not perfect and needs a little filing on the back side. I wish it could punch holes just slightly bigger. But it works as advertised.You have to manually dig out the punched metal holes from the die. I forgot once and it was not fun to remove the solid mass that accumulated inside after a couple dozen punches.
