I was a bit dubious about ordering this product due to mixed reviews online. I am a novice when it comes to doing shellac nails, however figured for the price of a few salon shellac polishes I could do my own. I have had 2 cnd brand shellac polishes done at a salon. The first peeled after 4 days the 2nd lasted 2 weeks and I removed it due to the regrowth rather than any chipping. I ordered the bluesky shellac to test value for money and so far I am really pleased with result. I used the base coat then cured for 10 seconds 3 thin coats of bluesky dark lava colour each cured 2 mins then the top coat also cured under UV for 2 mins. Wiped off with alcohol UV wipe to remove the tacky layer and was left with a perfect shellac polish. The finish is shiny and hard and the colour even. I have had the polish on for 2 days and so far no sign of any deterioration in the tips. I have had no adverse reactions and I am so pleased with the result. I have ordered more colours and will just monitor to see how long the polish lasts.

This is a fabulous alternative for those who want to try their own gel nail at home and leaves a durable high gloss sheen. If you can do a semi decent manicure you may as well purchase a lamp or starter kit and give gel nails a go!Starting with one hand. First Nails need prepping:- Cuticles pushed back and trimmed if needed, File the nail into shape then wipe one hand with alcohol based solution on a lint free cloth to ensure the nail is clean.Apply dehydrator to the nails on this hand and air dry.Then apply a primer or bonder in an 0 shape around the edge of the nail plate and under free edge.Apply base coat to nail, capping free edge (painting slightly under the free edge) cure 1 min uv or 30 seconds led lightApply at least 2 thin coats of colour to nails capping free edge.. cure 2 mins uv/ 1 min led for each coatApply a top coat capping free edge.. Cure 1 min uv/ 30 secs led. You will be lepft with a sticky layer so the last process is.....Using a lint free wipe per 1-2 nails soaked in alcohol solution wipe each nail and you will be left beautiful shiny hard set nails.Google youtube for more helpful tips if you have trouble! I decided I wanted to do my own shellac nails at home as having them done at the salon was getting expensive. I was initially looking into purchasing CND products or Gelish but as they are professional salon products they are quite expensive. I came across Bluesky and decided to give it a go purely on the reasonable price of the products.I have now used the products and am very happy with the results, they definitely do the job and I can not tell the difference between the polish I have done at home compared to the salon service. The products are quite thick compared to normal polish so be sure to apply thin coats and after applying the topcoat and letting it cure under UV make sure you wipe your nails over with alcohol solution as this sets the polish. I cannot comment on how long lasting my nails are as I only done them a few days ago but I'm sure they will last 2 weeks. Would recommend these products:-)

After having several gel manicures in salons I thought I would give it a go myself and chose this brand as it seemed good value for money.I went onto the shellac website for instructions on how to do a DIY gel manicure and followed the guidelines to the letter and I am so impressed with the results. I have a perfectly smooth and shiny, long lasting manicure and it looks really professional. I spent about £50 buying the lamp, top and base coats, 2 colours, prep & wipe, remover and lint fee wipes and so in 2 manicures I have covered my costs.The consistency of the base and top coats make them easy to use, not too runny or thick and if a complete novice like me can do it then anyone can!
