PEEQ Qball PRO Throwable Wireless Microphone System with LED Light Ring

So far this has been a great purchase and I've only used it for one day. This is getting kids excited about discussions in class. If using it in a classroom it's really important to establish rules though because it could quickly become a safety hazard. I especially love that you can mute it from the front so you don't need to grab the ball from a kid if they start getting unruly. I struggled to get this connected to my school projector speaker while my computer was hooked up so I ended up bringing in one of my own portable speakers for it to play off of which ended up making it easier so I didn't have to switch between the two when we go to watch video clips in between discussions.UPDATE: Was broken within 2 weeks of getting it. Customer service on their website does not show this ball. Process of getting this returned is taking much longer than expected.UPDATE 2: Ended up getting a whole new one sent to me because the old one had some type of battery malfunction, it was great for about 2-3 months and suddenly I'm getting some error flashing (I'm assuming) and it auto turns off. Their website with tech questions and help is not very helpful and keeps shutting down. Super sad that this is my second time struggling with this as I really do enjoy the participation I get from my classes when I do use it, but its not reliable and I simply cannot afford to keep replacing an item multiple times in a single academic year.

Pass on this item. It is really really good for very small spaces once you get beyond 10 feet the product no longer works. I should’ve returned. It just didn’t have time but not happy at all with this item. It’s too expensive for what it does.

I used this for a workshop with 60 people. I had the receiver plugged into a sound mixer on one end of the room. Unless the person holding the “ball” was facing the receiver, the signal cut in and out. A person’s body between the mic and the receiver blocked the signal. I returned the mic because it just won’t work for what we need it for.

I absolutely love having my QBall in my classroom. It’s a great way to get students engaged in classroom conversation and allow them to practice public speaking. The QBall has increased my classroom participation immensely! Students who once were quiet and shy are now raising their hand wanting to share out. I love it!

I tried using this microphone at a small business event but gave up after half a day. It has minimal range. It would be fine in a very small classroom but not a conference room. We turned it off after the morning session because it would mute people when they were talking if the ball wasn’t completely upright. So most of our sound was cutting in and out. It became too frustrating to use because we had to wait until the LED lights changed from red to green before anyone could talk. I turned off the auto mute feature but people voices still cut in and out. I ended up using a Rode Wireless Go on one of those handheld adaptors and that worked so much better. Ended up returning this product.

This microphone is amazing! Students want the opportunity to catch and speak!
