Prepare to lose
This is a good adaptation of the video game. However, it was not so easy to win. The game quickly becomes overrun with hordes of creatures. I did not really like putting up the next wave in front of the start tiles, as the minis just seemed out of place. The tiles themselves are pretty big and thick, and they need to be. When three starting paths merge into one, there are a lot of monsters crammed in there. You need a pretty large table to play the game. It really can spread out.Once all of one type of monster have been spawned, there is a substitution order for other creatures. However, when the last one in the substitution list is pulled, the rules do not specify if that creatures should just not be spawned or if the list should be wrapped back to the beginning. Otherwise, while the rule book is quite long, gameplay was not terribly long compared to other games we've played that required miniatures and custom map setups (like Arcadia Quest).
