Let me start by saying that these are not my go to batteries for everyday low-drain applications. For that I use the Which highly rated alkaline battery from a certain low-cost German supermarket. The Energizer lithium batteries are much too expensive and are overkill in these situations. I reserve the Energizer Ultimate Lithium batteries for my high drain devices, including digital cameras, flash equipment, smoke and carbon monoxide sensors.Over the years I have tried a number of different batteries in these applications, but none have performed as well as the Energizer in terms of battery life or performance, most notably when using my cameras in burst shooting and flash mode where I need the devices to recycle quickly ready for the next shot. In these demanding situations the batteries have been exceptional, never once failing to deliver. Moreover, they last for ages allowing me to shoot upwards of 600 frames before they require changing.Furthermore, with a published up to 25 years shelf life and leak proof guarantee it's good to know that whenever you need to use them, they will be good to go. This latest batch I ordered has a December 2049 expiry date on them so in my case should last a lifetime!These batteries are outstanding in every situation I have used them but if you want additional reassurance take a look at the Which independent consumer reports which rated the Energizer Ultimate Lithium AA battery head and shoulders above the nearest competitor with a score of 96%.

Bought for emergency torches. Very long shelf life and highest capacity. Price high but if you need reliability go for these.

The Nest instructions for the Smoke Alarms are to only replace with Lithium batteries (not Alkaline type Long-life batteries like Duracell).These are the direct replacement battery, and for a reasonable price. (Be careful not to get the rechargeable version, that looks identical)!I must admit these do last a long time, (several years in our alarm), and gives you the peace of mind the alarm is fitted with the correct batteries and works as intended.
