Prince called from Purple Rain and wants me to give him his jacket back.
i'm a size 6, five foot 3 in, 36", 24", 39". This jacket's across shoulder runs small. even fully unlacing still causes that weird "I can't quite move my arms over my head/backwards" feeling some blouses and jackets get for busty girls. I like it. it very much runs small, so order up, maybe even 2 sizes so you can create the right effect with the corset style back lacing. material and workmanship quality are decent, but i'd have given it 5 stars if I'd paid $40 for it instead of $60. I thought I'd hate it. I've worn it twice now just as a casual jacket and am kinda surprised how many compliments I've gotten....what's really shocking are the non verbal "compliments"...the jacket def turns heads, some in a " damn craygirl don stol prince's jacket" but most are in a "wow..I wish I had the ovaries to wear that like it's normal to get gas dressed like some sort of glamsteam bat."it's a little over priced, but if you think you'd like it, you probably will. it does hit me in the front a little above where my jeans/pants, so if you are looking for a longer piece, this is only long in the back.

Lovely, But a Little Big and Sleeves Are Long
This is a very lovely jacket. The color is gorgeous. The fabric is a brocade that is substantial enough to hold its shape, with enough give you it hangs and allows movement. I would have given it five stars, except we need to send it back. I bought this as a gift for my daughter who is a size 4 teen, sometimes a size 6. I bought a Small per the size chart. It was much too big. She inherited her dad's long arms, but the sleeves were still too long, covering half her fingers. I have short arms and my fingers would probably end before the Ruffles begin. The bust darts hit too low, but might be okay for someone more voluptuous. The back corset had to be pulled in almost completely for the front to be fitted, but then the back had too much fabric doubled over and the laces were dragging on the ground. In the photo you can see I temporarily wadded up the laces and tucked them under the corset. I would reorder in another size because it is that pretty, but we don't think the cut or arms are likely to fit.

Internet Sizing Experience a Plus
I LOVE this jacket! It looks even better than the photo. The color is a much richer purple than appears on my screen.Sizing: I reported "Fit as expected" because I carefully read all the reviews about size. If you are American and you order the size you would normally order, you will NOT fit into this jacket. I would normally wear an American L or XL or 12 or 14 (don't you just love women's sizing?), but this jacket is sized I think European. So, to be sure, I ordered a 3X. From all the reviews, I expected that the 3X would be large on me, but as a costume piece that I will be wearing on Halloween weekend outside in New England all night, I wanted to be sure there was room for something warm underneath. The fit was exactly as I'd hoped. About one full size too big, and the inside tag listed the US size as 16.Anyway, the quality is about what you'd expect--not great, but reasonable for a somewhat complicated piece at this price. It looks really good on, especially with my sassy little Victorian hat, and the lacing in back makes for a really nice shape. It's just fun.

Has a few issues, but overall very nice.
Three and a half stars. The good first: Its BEAUTIFUL. Its a higher quality than a Halloween costume, about the same or lower than your typical Teenage Runaway jacket would be; its very generous in sizing, I bought a 14 and it fits like it was tailored and I'm anywhere between a 14 and16 sometimes even an 18 depending on how small it runs seeing as most specialty fashion runs very small. its a stunning and vibrant color and I'm considering buying it again in black or a green one if they offer it.Now for the bad: Its delicate, not so much that I can't wear it often, but its something I wouldn't want to wear when we're building or tearing down sets or I'm rooting through a prop closet. Also when I first went to undo the buttons so I could try it on, the top button fell off. I'll reinforce the others which are similarly loose when I reattach this one, but other than that its a decently well made piece. Its more of a $40 jacket than a $64 jacket.

Get Ready For Heads To Turn. Nice.
This jacket is a head turner. I followed the advice of previous reviewers and ordered a Large, even though I usually am a medium in everything. The label says M/L. I'm glad I did The corsette-like strings in the back are very useful as you can actually tightened the jacket if it is too big. It wasn't too big when I purchased it and I did use the strings just to give it that cinched waist-look. I have since lost weight after I I purchased it but because of the strings, I can tightened it up. The string is very very long, I actually had to cut mine and tied little knots at the end. The color is perfect. Classy. It is a stunner with all black underneath and the right shoe or boot. Heads will turn with smiles. I'm thinking about getting it in Black. But I wear a lot of black so having this as a contrast really makes it standout, but not in an ostentatious way. You will love this jacket!!

Beautiful jacket and can adjust to your body shape
This jacket is very comfortable and beautiful. It is lined inside (label does not say lining material, it feels like Polyester). The pattern has texture, it's a little raised when you touch it. The material beneath the pattern has some shine. I bought the size Large to make sure I could button over my bust, but it's a little big. I like that I can tighten the laces in back to make the jacket look more fitted to my shape. My MeasurementsUsual Clothing Size: 4/6 Small, Curvy FitHeight: 5' 7"Bust: 34G/ 40"Waist: 27"Size of the coat I ordered: LargeCoat Fit on MeNeckline: Mid-height.Arms: Loose and shoulders too wide.Bust: Fits/ tight with laces.Waist: Fits/ tight with laces.OVERALL FIT: Fitted and tight with laces. But size Large is a little big for me because shoulders are too wide and I have slack at bust and waist to tighten.Label Type of Material: 60% Cotton, 37% Polyester, 3% Elastic.Label Washing Instructions: Machine wash cold, hang dry.
