Great Classic Stories (Audio Editions) Audio CD – Unabridged, 28 Sept. 2006

Bought for my dad at Xmas because he can't see any more and he misses reading. He says the stories are OK but are quite short. The price was quite high for what you get so only gave 4 stars

I bought this as a Christmas gift and the recipient was happy with the stories but had to try 3 devices before it would play. I have no idea what type of CD's are used but they do not appear to be compatible with all players

I ordered these to while away the time on a long car journey. Some of the stories are quite heavy but there is a good mix. I think there were 6 or 7 cds in all so a lot of hours worth of listening and certainly great value!

As someone who spends a fair bit of time in the car, I found these short stories an excellent way of making travelling more pleasurable. There is a good mix of comedy, horror and so on to entertain and amuse, and an interesting variety of famous names reading the stories. The only irritant I found was the American voice that provides the introduction (and calls Harriet Walter "Harriet Walker") but other than that I would recommend to anyone who is a fan of short stories

Well written classic stories, which are well narrated. What more could you ask.

These are some well chosen stories that are great for shortening a long journey. Nothing too heavy and something you can listen to again and not get bored. Good value for money and quick delivery too.

Perfect for driving-short stories are a great way to pass the time-read so well by famous people and some were so funny too. Very nice old fashioned turn of phrase at times.

Worth buying and listening to if you have a long car journey - which we did. A nice "taste" of many authors.
