I purchased the "12 Pack Basswood Sheets for Crafts-12 x 12 x 1/8 Inch- 3mm Thick Plywood" for the purpose of cutting with my diode, tabletop laser for some crafty projects to sell and gift. I've used Lauan plywood in the past, but was looking for something thinner (3mm vs 5mm) and harder/denser. I've seen plenty of reviews for different items stating that the boards they purchased were not flat, and that was a primary concern for me. My laser head sits close to the material, and anytime there is much variance in product height there is a chance the laser head will drag or move the product, resulting in wasted time and product. The plywood I received was without blemishes, and flat. What more can I say? After cutting the plywood I do see that there is sometimes warpage in the material. But it was flat when I received it, and also when I put it on my grid to cut. I don't think it's humidity. What happens, I believe, is that the material heats up from the laser (more in some places than others) and it warps slightly from that. Remember, it is layers glued together. I've cut out a large (nearly 12" x 12") monogram, and afterwards it had zero warpage. When I have done Christmas tree ornaments with a lot of detailed close cuts I see slight warpage, but nothing that has been noticed by others. I hope this is helpful!

The wood has a nice grain effect. I did have 1 piece that was a little warped, but all in all is a nice option for your small crafting needs.

Nice wood

Easy to use wood with little warping for laser cutting. Size is as described, color is normal and as expected. Holds up nicely in my Glowforge. Cuts well. Will continue to purchase as this is the level of sturdiness I’m looking for.

great for small projects or small repairs.

So far I am very disappointed with this wood. I ordered 12x20 understanding that they would be slightly smaller but in some case almost full inch smaller. The boards are warped so bad that my strong magnets will not hold a side all the way down without putting multiple magnets and even then the middle of the board still flexes up. I found marks and stains on the boards I pulled out so far. If you need to use for large products I would consider this item

This product, the 12x12 is over 5mm thick. and the basswood seems to be the middle layer, the veneer looks like Mahogany. very bad description

Firstly, this isn't a full 12" wide - it is 300mm, which is 11.82". Secondly, I have seen batch-to-batch thickness variation. First order was dead-on 3.0mm thick. Second order was 2.75mm thick - workable, but if you are making tab-and-groove construction that relies on a standard thickness, measure first!
