A bit slow to warm up, but the long nozzle is excellent
This is a very good glue gun, and I am slightly embarrassed to admit I've bought 3 of them so far, for use with different types of glue stick. What I like:-The Long nozzle.Very often, I've struggled to use other glue guns because they don't allow me to place glue accurately into awkward areas. This glue gun solves that with a very useful long nozzle that allows you to place glue precisely in little nooks and crannies. Seriously, don't under-estimate how useful that is.The Trigger:The trigger action is smooth and allows a (user-dependent) consistent bead of glue to be applied. The Lead:The lead is a little over 2m long which is long enough to be useful without being a pain to store. What bothers me:-Slow Heat-up:The glue gun has quite a slow heat-up time, in my opinion. It's actually not that bad for a mains glue gun, but I also own Bosch's excellent cordless glue pen (for 7mm glue sticks) which heats up in 15 seconds and is very quick and convenient to use.Wasteful feed mechanism:This is why I own more than one of these guns. The feed mechanism pushes from the back, and so you have to feed a fair bit of a glue stick in before any glue comes out. Then if you want to change the type of glue stick, you have a fair bit of the existing glue stick to get through before the new colour/type of glue emerges. This is particularly annoying when you have to feed a new stick in to allow the gun to push through the first stick, and then the new stick can't be removed easily without risk of damaging the feed mechanism. This is more of a pain than it sounds, a decent glue sticks aren't that cheap and cheap glue sticks do not perform well. Hence, I ended up buying another couple of these guns when Amazon had a sale on.All in all, the ownership experience is pretty good. The glue-gun works well and if you register promptly after purchase, Bosch give you an extended 3-year warranty. Even at full price, they're fair value, given the usefulness of the long nozzle and that 3-year warranty, but keep an eye on the price, because they do drop under £20 fairly regularly (though not for long) and they're a bargain if you can grab one when they do.Do consider the Bosch Glue pen too though, as the rapid heat-up time and cordless convenience make a really appealing package.

Brilliant. Buy one.
If you're looking for a great quality glue gun then this is it. I've had mine 2 years andit's s still going strong. Ought it to do one or two jobs however its been used for all sorts of glueing , daughters art projects. And in moulds to make things too. It's very useful.Built in stand a great idea, it's robust and gets quickly up to temperature. It doesn't drip except if left on, on the stand for quite a while and never in use the trigger action is very precise and s neat nozzle produces a nice round bead of glue. It's great value and if it gives up I'd buy another as this on has had a loit of use and just as good as it was on day 1.The only variable are the glue sticks.Great bit of kit. Reccomend.

Excellent Glue gun probably better than most
I have used this hot-glue gun for about a year now. I don't like reviewing after just one or two uses as I feel some things don't always show up straight away. Overall 4.5 stars (can't show half stars so it looks like a 5*) because it's pretty good but has a couple of small niggles.Would I buy again if it broke - Yes.Why?a) - it seems quite well made, robust and has thus far proved reliable.b) - because it puts out a relatively high volume of adhesive, quickly - meaning I can stick quite a lot of stuff, quickly, without waiting for glue to heat up.c) - it uses 11mm diameter sticks rather than the 7mm sticks (i.e. as found in 'toy' glue guns like the sub £5 model I replaced with this Bosch PKP 18E). That's more than twice the cross sectional area so more than twice the capacity output all other things being equal.d) - heater is greater wattage than many competitors (so quicker start and more volume all other things being equal).f) - access to longer sticks (in 11mm) so less time spent inserting new 'follow on' stick.g) - has a slim metal nozzle (easier to poke into narrow slots) which feels more durable than competitors using plastic.I did a fair bit of research before buying and concluded that this was one of better models available - notably the heater in this was bigger than most and it struck a reasonable balance between cost and likely performance. It's not perfect so half a star off for small niggles....1) won't easily stand up and often falls over - a bench stand or holster might help - but would add bulk and cost.2) dribbles a small amount of glue from nozzle, when left standing - workaround is to switch off when not using, but this necessitates waiting up to a minute before one can re-use3) won't easily store back in supplied box as power cord is a tad too stiff (needed to cover power use) and plus a bit bigOverall niggles are minor and not 'show stoppers'. Overall this Bosch PKP 18ER is significantly better than my 'toy' 7mm stick gun it replaced. Because it works properly I find I use it a lot more often than ever I did my cheap/nasty 'toy' glue gun. Bottom line if you are serious about using hot-melt glue then get a serious industrial grade glue dispenser gun.

Nice long nozzle
Heats up fairly quickly, handles well, especially with the long nozzle. The glue stick provided is strong, shame only one..... It does drip when at rest, be nice to have a holder for it to drip into. My last glue gun used to boil the glue stick, not found this one does yet...Overall pleased with it, the cord is much more flexible than my last gun. 4 stars due to only 1 glue stick

Brilliant - best glue gun I’ve owned!
Really happy my husband chose this glue gun! I’ve always just bought a cheapie but he paid not much more and I’m so happy he did! The nozzle on it is just so much nicer and it also has a little stand which makes putting it down in between using, easier! Hubby chose right!!
