Opera: Eyewitness Companions (DK Eyewitness Companions)

Good way to begin a voyage within the opera world. After watching "This is Opera" (spanish documentary, presented by Ramon Gener) in the portuguese television I had to buy this book to complement the series. It's perfect.

Bought this as a birthday present for a friend who is a regular opera-goer. She always likes to reseach her operas well before she goes and has other books similar to this. She was very pleased with this present: she says it complements the other books she has and is very useful in giving the plots/background/history to a wide range of opera works.

For a beginner, this is an easy read to understand the world of opera.
