Bought this for a gas fire after original seal became loose. Had been in service for years. Tried sticking back with some heat resistant of glue, but would not hold. Tried this, it's easy to use, just cut to size and press in place. Unlike others I had no problem removing the backing tape. Has been in position for a few days with no problem.

I hadn't tried self adhesive stove rope previously just bought it to give it a go. Very easy to fit. Worst bit is getting the backing off the self-adhesive. I used a fine blade to do it. Could do with some instructions. I found it easiest to cut product into strips to fit. But a job that took me and hour (+) and some mild cursing took me 15 minutes tops. Good stuff so bought some more for my spares. Cures when it's on the stove and is working well keeping heat in and smoke out. My old stove rope was in dire need of replacement and I'd been putting job off till now. Pleased customer. Seems expensive for what it is, but factor in messy glue and the time and actually it's competetively priced.

It did job replacing gasket on ceramic grill. Adhesive tape was totally joke it peeled off together with protective tape. Fortunately I read some comments and bought additional adhesive. As well unclear how to prevent rope ends from fraying. On other hand it was not expensive and it did job.

The thing that didn't help the product when tried to peel the the backing tap to reveal the sticky side the sticky tape came away with the backing tape which then its not self sticking but I managed to use the product

Highly rate this to seal an offset smoker! It’s stood up to open flame where it protrudes into the firebox. Have ordered more to seal the cook chamber. The felt gasket I currently have/had had crusted up and disintegrated, the rope is far superior. Ciao

Ce joint a été appliqué sur mon BBQ offset smoker. Au départ j'ai vu l'épaisseur et je me suis dit, la porte va rester un peu entrouverte car l'épaisseur est trop importante... et c'est en effet ce qui se passait... mais attention, il faut prévoir un temps de compression. J'ai donc respecter 48h même en mettant une buche de bois sur la poignée pour écraser le joint. Du coup, il s'adapte parfaitement à l'ouverture résiduelle en étant plus comprimé là ou c'est sérré (niveau des charnières) et moins à l'endroit ou l'écart porte-corps du BBQ est plus grand. AU final c'est vraiment bien plus étanche. Donc surement mieux que les joints en ruban plat non compressible. Satisfait de mon achat que je recommande.

Ik vind dit echt wel een goede afdichting die ik heb gebruikt om een nieuwe hittebestendige ruit in mijn gaskachel te monteren. Maar opgelet; men moet heel voorzichtig de beschermfolie aan de lijmkant verwijderen. Indien men niet oplet trekt men ook de lijmlaag van de dichting.
