What are the dimensions of this pond please?

I don't know off hand, but I'm sure the measurements are given in the description of the pond. It's very sturdy, and really great for wildlife. We have iris, pond lily and oxygenator plant. Also resident frog! The birds love it too. If I had to guess I'd say 36" long 18" wide, and about 9/10" deep. Hope this helps.

Are these strong enough to sit above ground so that I can stand pots around the sides

I would say not. The pond is quite flimsy, they recommend a sand lined hole in the ground. I guess you could make a concrete support with some shuttering.
