ETEKCITY BODY WEIGHT SCALE: Excellent, accurate, easy to read scale, no mobile app.+added correction
I spent over 2 hours searching for a scale on Amazon before making my final choice which was for the above Etekcity weight scale. I wasn't interested at all in the mobile phone app that does fat vs. muscle mass and other things, just the best, pure weigh only, weight scale. This scale, I received by carrier, had a simple but elegant look and was extremely easy to read, with very bright white numbers against a black background, as as good as the picture of the scale in the pictures provided by the manufacturer.I also, always check the readers reviews, which in this case were amongst the best of any scales, I had read about, including 93% very satisfied customer reviews (82% 5 Star; 11% 4 star) and only 2% 1 star. Typically, I do not buy items with over 6% negative reviews.Thusly, the 5 star reviews given to this scale, I completely agreed with, shortly after I set it up on marble floor and started using it. This scales most impressive features were the following: a) a very sleek looking on the bedroom, marble floor; b) very easy to set up. Just pull out a small tape to activate the 3 AA batteries; c) a scale large enough to accommodate my two, size 14 feet; and d) found that it needed about 8 seconds, at most, to get a finalized weight reading, consisting of first, an orange or red light, finalized by a green light. These two light signals signify that the scale had finished checking and rechecking the weight before giving it's final result; and e) the bight light and relatively large letters were extremely easy to read. The most negative review I encountered, was from a customer who said the machine was much too inaccurate, which was pretty much the consensus of some 2% of the overall reviewers, who had given1 star reviews. Most did not define what they meant by inaccurate, but some did. One wrote, for example, that this reviewer had held a 0.3 lb object in hand, and it it did not record this weight change after re-stepping on the scale. I did my own simple tests as to accuracy and achieved a definitely superior result from the above reviewer. I did find one perceived discrepancy, however, on my newly purchased, received scale, compared to what Etekcity wrote in their add-- which was, that their scale could measure even small objects placed on the scale down to 100 grams in weight (about 1/4 lb or 4 oz). I tested this advertised feature, by taking a large, heavy 2-3 lb large D200 Nikon camera, and then placing it, on every conceivable part of the scale platform, and found that the scale made no reading, at all, of the 2-3 lb object. I then assumed that the statement that the scale could read small, low weight objects to an accuracy of 0.1 lbs was incorrect. However, further experimentation, after my first review, proved my conclusion was wrong, due to fact that I had missed doing some critical, preliminary steps to verify the advertisers statement. Unfortunately, here was no short 1-2 page user manual supplied with the scale. The was no mention of what I found on further observations, which was the following: 1) if you modestly touch or get on the scale with one foot, the scale will show 2 bright letters (the 2 letters are: HI). HI (Hello perhaps) signifies that the scale is now ready to take a full weight reading. At this point, don't get on the scale, just deposit your small, low poundage object, such as a camera, or whatever, anywhere on the scale and it will make a reading of it within 8 seconds or less, giving an accurate weight of the small object, thereafter to within 0.1 lbs. Doing these steps, my Nikon D200 camera with telephoto lens, had a weight reading of 2.3 lbs. Other small, low poundage objects can also be measured in the aforementioned way, thus, becoming more than just a body weight scale, but a scale to weigh many objects, if the owner of the scale finds such need(s).My prior experiment, from my first review, was getting onto the scale without my camera in hand, for which the reading was 278.5 lbs. About 15 seconds later I re-weighed myself with camera in hand and got a reading of 280.8 lbs. The camera made a significant change to my weight of +2.3 lbs- same figure as when separately weighed in this later review. In conclusion, this scale is advertised to be used at body weights 400 lbs or below, in order to insure its most reliable, high accuracy range. The machine can also be adjusted from lbs to kilos, in a few seconds, by pressing a button on the underside of the machine, as per their instructions. So, overall, I would rate this Etekcity scale as a 5 Star winner, for those most interested in obtaining their overall body weight, to a very reasonable, high degree of accuracy.

Auto-Calibration is Sweet!
Nice scale. Seems to work well, works well, light enough to put away when not in use, pretty enough to leave out if you have the space. Love the verify.

Sensitive enough for my cat, heavy duty enough for me!
This is an AMAZING scale! I have been on a weight loss journey for a year now and have gone from 318 to 230! This scale has actually helped me do that! You can link it up to health apps and even Alexa! On top of all of that it has helped us keep a close eye on our disabled cats weight too! AND you can tell your app that it wasn't you so it doesn't think you are just weighing your big toe!The screen is easy to read and bright enough you can see it in thr dark. It let's you know when it is connecting to your app and helps you keep track. The size of it is such that I don't feel like I am going to break it. As you can imagine I felt like often! So that's great too!Two very enthusiastic thumbs up!

Accurate attractive priced right
Have used this scale for sevral weeks and find it to be very accurate. I've read that some manufacturers reatin the last measured weight in memory so as to be repeatable. I have found that merely removing some clothing or other weight change of a quarter pound or so will be detected and shown as a new correct weight. The suto on feature is really nice, Just step onthe scale and it immediately starts to weigh. Large digital display is easy to read and the scale settles down to the final weight in just seconds. Rarely it will make a small change in weight on the recheck feature. Most noticibly when moving around while in the weighing portion looks like it computes the average. The scale itself is slim, and the grey color is very attaractive, The glass surface makes cleaning and maintaining it very easy. All in all a major improvement over my previous scale which would vary by as much as 0.6 pounds required turning on with your toe and had a textured surface that got dirty and wasn't as easy to maintain. If it is durable and lasts a long time remains to be seen as for any new purchase.

Quick, accurate, easy to read
Another reviewer compared this to the same brand that I used to have. She was so right about how well this one works. The only recommendation that I have is that it needs a handle or indentations, so that I can pull it out, since it is stored under a piece of furniture to keep it out of the way.

Great Purchase!
Easy to use this digital scale right out of the box. It replaced a different one with too many functions. This new scale will quickly & accurately show today's weight without any ado.

The Best Scale
We love the clean modern design of this scale. The numbers are large, bright and easy to read. It gives accurate and consistent readings. It’s been used in a two-person household for over 7 months and the batteries are still going strong. No need to special order button batteries in the future because it uses AAAs. We have owned a few digital scales over the years and this one has been the best by far!

Nice Bathroom scale.
Nice scale, works well, looks good and I like it measures in tenths and not 2 tenth like most other scales I've seen. What can you say about a bathroom scale. The only concern I have with it is that the button to change the unit of measurement is placed so that it's too easy to change it inadvertently when picking up the scale. However, this probably wouldn't to much of a concern as most people would leave sitting at one place on the floor. I have to move mine due to space considerations so at first I kept changing the unit of measurement every time I picked it up. However, with a little practice I pick it up at a different point so it's not a problem.
