Great quality, easy install.
This is a really nice, well manufactured, heavy duty vent. Hardware included was also good quality, though I had to use other screws to fit my installation. Nice they included a spare lint cup. My house is vinyl sided, I got lucky and it fit nicely, though I had to use several layers of strip insulation to make it fit properly and be weather proof. I would but this again! Update: after one night installed, my laundry room is no longer drafty!!!

Stainless steel, non-magnetic, won't rust, very well machined with no sharp or rough edges.
We have a unique problem that differs from others. Our South Florida garage is air conditioned, and we were losing COLD air from our garage to the outside environment through our 4" dryer vent pipe. This resulted in higher electric bills and less cool air in our garage as well as less cool air in our home. We live in a very sunny and salt-air environment where plastic does not hold up, aluminum corrodes, and steel rusts, therefore I wanted a stainless steel product. This is well machined, works flawlessly, and doesn't even build up lint in the interior due to its curved shape! It's fabulous! Only problem is I lost one of the tiny screws in our lawn that holds on the top cover. It's also stainless steel, and I couldn't find it! It's a very short fine thread but it may be a metric screw and I haven't been able to get a replacement anywhere! A standard screw did not fit, so for now I taped one side of the top down. Be careful not to drop a screw when you screw the cap on! Absolutely a great product! I don't mind paying the higher price for a quality item that will last!

What I learned
This is a HEAVY DUTY unit. Highly recommend, cost more, but not made of plastic like the others. If you are drilling into motar, concrete , or brick will need drill, special drill bit for concrete etc and plastic sleeves to insert screws once placed into the drill hoes. Pick up a can of insulation foam. You will need a good drill, Ideal a hammer drill or it will just take more time. Removed old unit, had to be 20 years old. It allowed small unwanted critters to enter the house because the flap was no longer fully closing. Removed lint and junk in the vent tube, cleaned out, could be a source for a future fire. Premakred and drilled the base unit holes first. Once prepped used foam which is very messy if you are not careful, then screwed the base to the brick wall. This gives a tight insulated seal. Positioned the top piece and pre-drilled the two holes then loosely mounted the unit. I did not tighten down as I am waiting for the excess foam to dry so it can be removed easily on the base part. Careful with the foam when wet. Maker thought of a lot of things and included them in the package A+. Would of been nice it the plastic screw tubes for concrete / brick were include. They are cheap and saved a trip to the hardware store. Without the hardware trip all can be completed in less than an hour. Preparing the surface took the longest as I had to scrape off old caulk and clean out the pipe etc . Used a sharp scraper, screw driver and hammer to loosen the existing. In the end, well made product and would highly recommend. Hope this helps you. One of my concerns was finding the durable product .ONE OF THOSE YOU GET WHAT YOU PAID FOR SITUATIONS.

Great design, built very sturdy
Extremely clever in its design. Heavy-duty. Thicker gauge metal, rust resistant. I am genuinely impressed. I have a brick house. Five minutes to tapcon it in, 5 minutes to caulk it. Rodent and bug proof. Provides greater airflow than those horrible shutter type closures.

Sturdy, durable, High quality metal work - Repurchased a second one another dryer
Replaced new construction vent with this vent. Experienced "flapping" of the vent during high winds, which caused noises inside and have experienced drafts going into the dryer; therefore, kept the dryer door closed. I have two sets of washer/dryers in home, so this first was to see if warranted second due to price. I did reorder another. GOOD: This is solid heavy stainless steel, no sharp edges, and very good constructions. Easy to install. Essentially I cut off base of old vent with Drummal, put down silicon under the base and to wall, slide under the siding, and silicone around edges. Need to put trim back on yet. IMPROVE: Mounting screws are too short and did not bite into the wall. Bought 1 1/4" SS screws in order to get through the siding to the wall. Reduce cost of unit by $10 or more, it is expensive. Supply longer mounting screws and don't provide unnecessary gloves and screw driver.

Best exterior dryer vent
Bought a new house and the builder used cheap plastic dryer vent covers. Worked ok, but the inside of the dryer during the winter, was as cold as it was outside. The flaps on the vent would open during windy conditions. Was tired of hearing about how cold the clothes were coming out of the dryer. I was more concerned about the air coming into the house and causing the heating bill to go up. I found this vent with an great design. Since using it, no more cold dryer and the heating bills are down. The installation, depending on your siding or exterior wall, may need to be altered. I have vinyl siding and installation was easy. I did have to take some exterior silicone sealer and seal around the siding. Wasn't a big deal, but wanted to make sure I had an air tight fit. I looked at many different exterior dryer vents and still consider this one the best.

Powder coated STAINLESS STEEL / Heavy Duty
I'm very impressed with the quality and durability of this. You will see negative reviews saying that this isn't stainless steel because it's powder coated (painted) but I can assure you that it is stainless steel. A magnet will not stick to it and it's much heavier and sturdier than aluminum. The floating flap inside that prevents bugs and creatures from entering is light weight and absolutely will not obstruct the flow of air. They give you a second spare flap, gloves and a screw driver. This is an expensive vent but you get what you pay for. If you plan on keeping your house for a long time this is a worthwhile investment.

NOT RETURNABLE - but you can get a refund
UPDATE: If you can speak to a human, you can get a refund. No other way. Again, it's stainless steel (not hazardous) so the shipping restriction is a mistake you can't fix. I forgot to mention in my original review that it's very heavily built (the only reason for 3 stars). I wanted to like it. On the other hand part of it just sits on the other part, no screws, so critters or pets could open it up and let in the rain. ORIGINAL: Product description says money back for 30 days, but there is no return option. The product description does say that it contains hazardous material, but it's stainless steel and plastic. Somehow they tag this as hazardous and that means you're stuck with it. I'm only giving it three stars because the airflow is incredibly restricted coming out. The air has to exit downward through small Corner openings that represent less than half of the cross section that the incoming pipe has. This will add a lot of back pressure to your dryer and might cause warm damp air leaks in your house. If I can figure out how to claim that money back warranty I will update this review.
