In what country are these made?

These answers are outdated. Spode is now owned by Portemeirion and has brought production back to Stoke on Trent in the United Kingdom. The previous owners were having some made in China. Spode under Portmeirion STILL makes SOME pieces in China, the tea caddy for instance, that would otherwise be cost prohibitive to produce. I bought the tea caddy made in China and it was absoolutely first quality and well made. Ignore comments that are more than a year or two old. That was a different company and after Portmeirion bought Spode they have worked to move as much prodction back to England as possible, but still, as of 2020, SOME pieces are still made in China for cost reasons. It also seems some companies have been selling seconds through Amazon. I'd return those immediately for a refund.

If you got it on Amazon, return it quickly, I think within a month. Also, complain to Spode!!!
