Long Life Lamp Company 7w LED Bulkhead Dusk to Dawn Sensor Security Light Very Bright 100w Output Cool White Light

Please note the review is September 2020. I started writing a review when I purchased the first lamp in 2016 but didn’t complete it - hence why the date still shows 2016. I thought I would wait before posting - as mentioned below. This first lamp, fitted in 2016, is still working.I fitted a further two of these lamps in 2017 and thought I wouldn’t complete a review at the time until I could report on the reliability- particularly as these have fixed, irreplaceable LED’s so, if it fails the whole unit needs to be replaced . Initial results were surprising- very bright considering an apparent 7W consumption.......Reliability is, therefore, a key factor given that, unlike units with a replaceable LED bulb ( and, by the way, to get a 100w equipment uses around double the 7w specified here) replacing the whole unit would cost around 5 times the price of a bulb and avoids all the hassle ( more on this later) of removing and rewiring.So, after two years the first unit failed. It was clearly the sensor as it remained on all day. I overcame that by installing a timer but the whole unit failed shortly after. The other unit is still functioning.Yes, the units are good value and provide excellent brightness but, if you need to replace a unit after a few years ( bearing in mind they no where near meet the expected lifespan) then it’s both uneconomic and unnecessary waste.Design - the cover isn't easy to remove but, fortunately, both units had the cover partially open on one side so relatively easy to remove.- moving the terminal block out of its locating pins makes connecting up much easier.- the wiring instructions, as others have said were, at the time of purchase, incorrect. There was no earth and the terminal is marked L and N so connect up to these and not follow the instructions.- make sure you test the unit with say a black plastic bag over the sensor before putting the cover on. Otherwise it's not easy to remove - a good thing as it should make the seal waterproof.Overall a good light but it’s replacement will have a LED bulb.

Works flawlessly. Illuminates my side gate and passage. Had mine installed by a qualified electrician. As it says on the tin, comes on at dusk and switches off at dawn. Perfect. Good build quality. IP44 rain resistant. I'm hoping it will last a long time. No reason why not. I'm going to purchase another one!

This product works well and is bright enough fora dusk till dawn outside light. The only thing was a piece had broken off in the light not detrimental to the light working but didn’t. have time to send back it was urgently needed, so stuck the broken piece back on..

Wow!!!! Totally amazed at how bright this outdoor light is!! It is totally amazing!!!! Extremely bright to light up my outside space. I am over the moon with my purchase - it exceeded all my expectations because - and get this!!! It does not have a bulb - in other words there is no having to change the bulb when it goes on you!!! It has something else inside the wall light that is not a bulb and therefore there is no worry about having to change the light bulb!! How amazing is that!!! YES!! I would DEFINITELY buy another one from this amazon seller and I would DEFINITELY recommend them!! Thank you so much for such a wonderful outdoor, dusk till dawn light!! Definitely great value for money too and a speedy delivery. Just can't fault this seller, many thanks!

Fiddly Better if connections were push fit

I've bought three of these lights, One for the front side of my house, one for the kitchen extension and the third for the rear of the house.They are very bright (much to the annoyance of one of my neighbours). I won't be changing them any time soon though as they are certainly a good deterrent against possible intruders.I can thoroughly recommend these lights, worth every penny.

I bought 2 around 5 years ago and am only now having to replace one. I dont really use the PIR as the light is almost too bright for my neighbours if its left on. When on it does light up the garden and alleyway really well. Overall a great light.

The light was installed 3 months ago and worked fine at first. After 3 months it failed. The light circuit has a fused spur switch indoors to isolate it should it be needed. This circuit was installed by a qualified electrician and he has told me all external lighting requires some means of isolation and cannot be wired directly to the fuse board as they seem to be suggesting. It has remained turned on for all of this time, ie: never switched off. The seller has now said"Thank you for your email, these are dusk to dawn sensor lights which are supposed to be left on all the time to make the mechanism work automatically. (turn on automatically in the dark and switch off during the day)The item cannot be override with a manual switch as it damaged the sensor in time."I have told them the light was never switched on and off as they suggest and the switch is there merely as a precaution should the circuit ever need to be isolated. Seems they are just looking for any excuse to avoid replacement. In my opinion, garbage product
