Pipe is thick and chrome is good. Well machined NPT with very flat ends for gasket sealing.
I installed this straight pipe with a new flow adjuster, extension arm, and 8" rain head. I could not get the old wall pipe to not leak - as the rubber gasket would always push into the pipe end when tightening. Due to this and wanting more height on the shower head, I purchased this straight pipe. There were others at 6", but this is a MOEN (quality). I used 3 wraps of Teflon tape on the wall side (obviously no gasket here). I also used channellock pliers to tighten (very close to wall in case I buggered the pipe - knowing the chrome wall ring would hide any marks). I wrenched pretty hard, but left no marks on the pipe at all! Hard chrome layer! I used a wrench, but took care to not tighten the flow control (with gasket) too tight on the straight pipe. My setup puts the lowest part of the 8" head at 6'1". Being 5'9', this worked fine. Taller individuals may want to 180 degree their existing curved wall pipe to face up. This straight pipe is good quality and works as designed - the gasket issue (noted above) on old curved pipe did not happen with this pipe. Overall, very happy with purchase!

Used for rain down shower head.
After running from here to tenbucktwo I had to order Straigh Arms offline. Super pleased with the quality! Will definitely order again in the future.

Perfect Looks and works great without problems
Moen 116651BN 6-Inch Straight Replacement Shower Extension, Brushed Nickelreceived on time, well packaged. very nice finish, used to extend hand held shower head to a much better level without having to hire a plumber or make extensive pipe changes. I did buy a connector to use: one end of connector for pipe coming out ot shower wall, and the other end of connector to use on this replacement pipe. Attached hand held shower holder/head to other end of replacement pipe. Used plumber tape on all and got tight fit, no leaks. I have no plumbing skills and found this simple and straight forward, took about 10-15min, had to get use to handling plumbing tape.

Works as advertised
When I remodeled my guest bathroom, I changed the shower head from wall to ceiling in order to have the rain affect.I used this pipe to extend from the ceiling to the shower head.My one complaint is with the delivery. I needed to change the delivery address, and even though it said "takes a couple of days to process" it wouldn't let me change the shipping address (literally seconds) after placing the order.

Exactly what it should be....
This shower arm is just like you'd expect from a reputable company. It feels solid and the finish on mine is nice shiny chrome. I had no luck finding a straight shower arm locally and as I'm using mine with Delta Faucet UA902-PK Universal Showering Components 12 -Inch Adjustable Shower Arm, Chrome I really wanted a straight one because the extensions look ridiculous with regular curved shower arms. One thing to note - and this is really the reason for this review - is that the picture of the chrome one is goofy because it looks like the threads are very short on one side. This is not the case on the actual piece; there is an identical and ample amount of threads on each end of the pipe. So, if you're looking for a straight shower arm, I see absolutely no reason this one wouldn't be fine.

It is what it says it is
There's some confusion on IPS vs NPT. I can confirm the threads are in fact tapered and fit 1/2" NPT drop ear elbows that are standard shower rough in.It is not clear exactly what the IPS standard is, but know this will work for any shower application in North America.
