Perfect Pocket Scalpel
This is a phenomenal piece of equipment. It takes the #60 blades which have a similar blade profile as the Benchmade Osborne series. I cannot say if it takes the Avalon #60A, but I cannot tell you that the blade fits perfectly into the handle with no wiggle — this is a primary complaint for me on other fixed scalpels I own. The groove that holds the blade is machined perfectly for the width of the standard #60. If the #60A has a wider blade, you will likely have to mod the holder or risk a break trying to fit it. I also imagine the #60XT would have a little wiggle if it were thinner.I am NOT a fan of frame lock knives. This may be the only exception because the part of the frame that locks is removable. Should there be any issues with wear or grime that gets into the frame, you can remove it for maintenance or replacement.Another feature that is amazing new, but may become a pain point later is the ball bearing. I prefer brass shims over bearings because there is less clearance for dust and dirt. With an application of graphite, it keeps the shims lubed and moisture resistant. The bearings are small, but the knife is designed for complete break down. You will need a specialized star bit for the screws. That, again, may be a pain point should one need replacement. Given that, I recommend thread lock to reduce the chance of the screws vibrating loose over time.Another small complaint is the clip attachment. It is a deep carry clip which is phenomenal for conceal carry, especially with such a thin profile. When you put the clip on, the screw sticks out instead of being flush, despite the machined grooves for the clip. A slight mod to the underside of the screw head would remedy this, but I am content without the clip. The pull ring looks tacticool, but for conventional use, it is bulky and ruins the look. It may be useful for those in winter settings with gloves, because if this hits fresh powder, it is most likely gone.Lastly, the blade has three deployment methods — a thumb peg, a pant hook, and a roll tab. The thumb peg is very close to the frame. You can use it, but the roll tab is by far the best of all the deployment methods. This knife is worth the money. There are also two grooves in each side which can fit 2mm x 13mm tritium vials. It might make it easier to find should it slip into someplace dark.

Good buy for price
OK. So. This item is totally designed for non-permissive environments, and will almost certainly pass through weapons scanners for ferric metals. The only steel of any size is the scalpel blade, and closed it's inside the titanium handle, which should block the magnetic field. That being said, millimeter- wave scanners such as used at major airports and such will detect it, as they detect density, blah blah, Do your homework. Excellent fit and finish, opening/ closing very smooth, good lockup. Thumb stud a bit small for my large hands, but flipper works great. Prefer the glass breaker to the finger ring, but both are well fittedetc. You could remove the blade for air travel, and have your knife after the flight. Super sharp, duh, its's a scalpel blade. For the price, recommend. Addendum. Yes, these will go through a metal detector for ferrous metals.

This is what I've been looking for FOREVER!!!
So, I've been EDCing an Emerson Waved pocket knife for about 20 years now. I soon graduated from a mini CQC-7 to a P'Kal, and from the P'Kal, I became obsessed with karambits. Now - my dilemma. I always have to carry two knives on me when I go out. One as a user and my waved knife as a self-defense option. I got tired of going to parties where everyone knows that I'm the knife guy and being asked "Hey, can I borrow your knife?" and having to turn them down, explaining that my blades stay sharp and will only cut flesh. The other huge problem - I spend a lot of time at home looking after my elderly parents and I live in Texas, so I like to wear thin athletic shorts in order to stay comfortable. I keep trying to buy lighter and lighter waved karambits to find one that's comfortable enough to wear around the house - no luck... UNTIL NOW! I know that it's not a karambit, but it has a ring and wave! It also has a replaceable blade, so no need to carry two knives! I can use my emergency defense tool as a package opener/etc. It also weighs less than half of my usual EDC, a Spyderco Karahawk so I barely notice it in my pocket. This gadget has literally changed my life! It's everything I needed! Thank you for making this Olitans! Keep it up! I will buy every waved. ringed scalpel holder that you come out with. Oh yeah, the fit, finish, action, presentation, EVERYTHING is top notch! Best thing I've purchased off of Amazon in a long time! Best scalpel knife in existence!

Works like a regular scalpel handle
This works like a regular scalpel handle for a 20 blade. It does not fit an 11 12 or 10. But it does fit a 20 really well. Does not lock open but not a big deal. Really well made. I am a surgeon it feels natural in my hand

Useful, light, and dangerous
Get the legit havalon 60A blades they hold up better. I get a lot of compliments on this knife if you just need something to open packages or skin animals this will do it.

Great EDC, I've bought several. Does not fit Havalon 60a replacement blades.
It's a great & I recommend it if you want a portable, sharp knife with blades that can always be replaced.WARNING tho, several people have said Havalon 60a fits & I have to say it does not. I now have 49 Havalon 60a replacement blades (one broke trying to remove) that I won't be using anytime soon.

Really nice knife
Well made, sturdy with some locktite. I like the sharpness of the blade and when its done, just replace with a new one. Different kinds can be added just need to ensure they fit a #4 blade handle. Will buy more when cheaper.

Lock sticks
This knife had a lot of resistance while flicking open. Its locking mechanism also sticks so you must close it with two hands. Poor quality.
