its koicha or nada...
preheated chawan and let my chasen soak in the hot water for 15 seconds. this is a must!!!around 3 grams with around and 1oz of water...a nice heavy, mineral rich water (i used aqua panna) heated to around 165 degrees F...initial impressions...nice smooth transition that touches many bases...sweet, creamy, rich, with a great deal of boldness and character, which a good koicha should exhibit...sweet and airy elements sit on the tip of the tongue while a very egg like lecithin coats more predominantly around the middle of the tongue...the aft of the tongue has a just an inkling of astringency which helps balance out the creamy, albumin qualities which i like because it keeps the tea from becoming overly monotone, which can be an issue while drinking some matchas...while this is a very, very good matcha and probably one of the best ones ive come across on amazon, i cannot give it the full 5 stars because ive had some bowls of koicha which had slightly better expression and character aspects that i prefer...this is a 4.5 outta 5 ...please try, especially if you wanna step up into the world of koicha...
