Two Stars
Poor quality control. Wrinkles in the plastic will cause leaks even with double or repetitive seals.

Foodsaver plastic for the beast size Gamesaver
I have both a FoodSaver Outdoors version and the new beast size Gamesaver Foodsaver. I've been using the OUtdoors version for 4 years and the new Gamesaver for a few months now. With that said, I've been using FoodSaver plastics to seal up fish and various other wild game my husband and kids have brought home for the last 4 years. We use these Foodsavers constantly, because to say my family is are avid fishers/hunters would be an understatement. But it is not about bagging a trophy. It's about food. Between all the gear, licenses, boats, blinds, decoys, Brownings, ammo, clothing, fuel and everything else, wild game is incredibly expensive. So we cook it all. And if even one fish gets freezer burned and ruined, it's one too many. That's why we trust our game to Foodsaver. This Gamesaver plastic does a great job of keeping meats preserved in even the cold of a chest freezer. I do however have a tip when sealing meats using the FoodSaver/Gamesaver. Something I learned after sealing tons of meats. After you've heat sealed the plastic and pulled out the air, and you've cut the excess plastic away, let the package of meat sit for about a minute before putting it in the freezer.A few years ago when I was first working with our Outdoors FoodSaver, after I had sealed meats, I would just put the packages right into the freezer the moment after they were sealed. This didn't give the plastic a chance to fully adhere together. The plastic going from melting hot to well below freezing in just seconds on occasion cause the heat seal to open and the meat to be exposed to the air. Once I realized that my not giving the plastic a chance to fully seal together was what caused this, we started letting the packages of meat sit for a minute or so before putting them in the freezer. Never again have we one come unsealed on us since then. And with our new Gamesaver and this Gamesaver size plastic, we're able to preserve large game in larger pieces, and not have to cut them down in size.

The "Gold Standard" of Roll Bags
The first question you should ask yourself, before buying these bags, is. . . . Do I really need 15”. If narrower rolls will do the job. . . at least most of the time. . . then you will usually save money. . . .especially if you purchase “generic” rolls. Granted, FoodSaver bags are the “gold standard”. If you’re going to be storing your items for an extended period, then FoodSaver is best.If you do not have an extra-wide machine, then you’ll need to seal them on one side. . . and suck the air out the other. . . or. .. seal a little bit on each side. . . and suck the air out the center. A little more work, but if you really need the 15” bags, then it can be done.Don’t forget to make the bags longer than you really need them. That way you can keep using the bags over. . . and over. . . and over. . . until they are completely used-up. This way you get the most for your money. . . and let’s be honest. . . these bags are VERY expensive. . . but they are Made in the USA and I really like that part.

Waste
As the roll diminishes, the wrinkles in the product increase making them harder and harder to seal.So 10 to 20 percent is useless.

Great bags to accompany your foodsaver
I have owned a foodsaver vacuum sealer for about 15 years now. It’s one of the most used kitchen appliances in our house and is used almost every day. There are primarily 2 options for vacuuming with this device, canisters and vacuum bags. The canisters are great for cereals, crackers, even fruits (keeps avocados and apples fresh after cutting because there is no air to turn them brown). The bags are outstanding for long term storage, especially of meats, but we have used them for berries and dried fruits as well (just make sure to freeze them prior to vacuuming so they don’t get crushed). Our family makes Costco runs, and loves to buy in bulk. The foodsaver allows us to buy large quantities of items like fish, beef and pork chops and vacuum seal them in the foodsaver bags. They will avoid freezer burn for months, even over a year in our freezer. We live in the pacific northwest, and when copper river salmon is available and the price is right, I stock up on several pounds and vacuum them. Then I have fresh salmon all year long without having to pay off-season prices. It’s a great way to both save money and have the best quality meats. The foodsaver bags work very well. They’re easy to use and seal up perfectly if used correctly. These bags are HUGE and designed for entire filets of fish or large cuts of meat. They have the same quality as their smaller counterparts, no air leaking and a tight seal. If you’re looking for large bags for your foodsaver, these will work perfectly.
