Cried, Laughed, Audibly Reacted
EVERYBODY NEEDS TO READ THIS BOOK!!!Ohmygosh, I fell in love with this book from chapter one. Every single character was amazing, Myrna was my favourite in the whole book. Lindsey Kelk is a fabulous and downright underrated author. I didn't want this book to end because it was so amazing. This is definitely a book I could read time and time again. The relatability of every character was fantastic and Myrna's tough love was definitely advice and wisdom I will be keeping with me.

Rating 3.5 Cliche, but hard to put down
A cliché of a Rom-Com but was it a fun little adventure.I found the main character so relatable, fun and quirky.I liked the banter and chemistry between the characters.I just wish that Ren wasn't so 2D and gad a bit more depth to him.Overall a quick and enjoyable read

Fun, addictive read that I thoroughly enjoyed! Sequel please!
Love Me Do is a fun, addictive read that I thoroughly enjoyed.Firstly I absolutely loved the characters in this book. They were all such fun, lovely creations and it was so nice to follow them throughout the book. The main character Phoebe was an absolutely fantastic character, who I fell in love with. She’s so funny and realistic that I instantly warmed to her and wished that I knew her in real life. Phoebe has a unique, yet hilarious way of describing things which often had me laughing out loud and I loved her ability to get herself into some interesting situations. It was great to see her grow more confident in herself as she settled into LA and made some great new friends.Having never been LA, despite my sister living there for a few years, I enjoyed exploring it alongside the characters. It seems like a really interesting place to visit and I had never realised how diverse it could be having lots of access to nature rather than just a city. I especially loved the descriptions of the beautiful beaches and the graveyard where people had picnics seemed very interesting. It has definitely made me want to visit there soon.Overall, as you can probably tell , I absolutely loved this book and I will definitely be recommending it to others. The author’s writing style just drew me in and I soon grew very fond of the characters, wanting to keep reading to find out what an earth would happen next. I managed to read this book over two days, which as a mother of three, rarely happens but I just absolutely loved this story and wanted to spend as much time with the characters as possible. This was the first book I’ve read by this author but I’m now very excited to read more from her in the future. I’m really hoping there might be a sequel in the future as I’d love to spend more time with Phoebe, Ren, Bel and the gang.If you’re looking for a fun, easy and gripping read for your holiday this summer I highly recommend this one.

Lindsey Kelk’s best yet!
Phoebe Chapman is visiting her sister Suzanne in LA, but when Suzanne has to go away for work for most of Phoebe’s visit, Suzanne’s friend Bel takes her under her wing and shows her the sights of LA. I loved Bel, she was hilarious!! One of those sights being Phoebe’s now neighbour Ren, who Bel happens to have a huge crush on. Phoebe decides to play matchmaker and attempts to set Ren and Bel up, but thing don’t go exactly to plan when Phoebe finds herself falling for Ren herself!I always love Lindsey Kelk’s books so I knew that Love Me Do would be no different, but I think it even exceeded the high expectations I already had.It has all of Lindsey’s usual ingredients - humour, romance, a loveable cast of characters, wit…but I just felt like it was giving even more. It’s hard to explain but I felt like it had real meaning behind it and that meaningfulness really made me FEEL and struck a chord. The idea of not having to constantly apologise for feeling the way that we feel. The idea that our feelings are valid. The idea that we are believed when we talk about the trauma and abuse that we have suffered, not just fobbed off. The idea that it’s okay to be who we want to be and to make decisions based on our own feelings, not just the feelings of others. The book conveyed such important messages and I really liked that. I liked that I got the summery, rom com, feel good vibes, but that I’ve also come away feeling like I’m really taking something from the book in terms of my own feelings and identity.Big shout out for Myrna for being the most iconic character!!! She gave me the old man out of The Holiday vibes cross between Evelyn Hugo, I LOVED her! Such a wise, unapologetically herself, hilarious lady. We all need a Myrna in our lives.

difficult one to review, as there were parts of this that I enjoyed and parts that I found dull
This is a difficult one to review, as there were parts of this that I really enjoyed and parts that I found rather dull.It was very clear that the final two thirds of this book were based on the story of 'Cyrano De Bergerac' and this left me feeling a bit let down and frustrated as it felt like a story that had already been told. But was pleased when I heard Kelk talking on a podcast saying that it was in-fact based on that play. It's good that it was intentional and not just some blatant plagiarism. The opening of the book was great, and was enjoying the female characters - in particular Bel. I enjoyed the character of Bel far more than the other protagonists in the book and would love a book all about her! When the love story came in I lost interest as it just felt like so many other stories... and of course Cyrano, which I have mentioned before.Would have liked something a little less cliche and a little more original - things you usually get when picking up a Lindsey Kelk book.

I loved LOVE ME DO
Loved the characters especially Bel and Myrna. The LA settings came to life: no idea how accurate to real-life but more importantly they felt real. Lindsey Kelk is an experienced and seriously good writer and there were plenty of wonderful laugh out loud moments I just had to share (not something I do very often). If the outcome is predictable, that’s the genre - and the route to get there isn’t. Lindsey Kelk at her witty observational best. Perfect summer read - or winter to remember summer. Or any point in between

Unrealistic story line
I totally LOVED Lindsey‘s „I heart“ books but feel like every one after is such a let down. I keep trying to give another a chance but after I‘ve almost had to force myself to continue reading for a week I gave up half way through!
